Temps dropped here for the first time and I finally had to turn on the heat. Temp showed 56 and I set it to 63.

Dropping. Furnace bit a turd last night - tech says he can get to us in 24... about 62 inside now, outside temp going down also, from current 27 to near zero.

Got the gas fireplace downstairs fired up, and can bring the electric space heaters in if necessary.

I can chew butter if need be.

The hot tub is working too. Could get wrinkly! smile

73 on cold nights, 71 or 72 on cool nights.

Wife is liking the outside wood boiler. We haven't switched to the winter comforter nor have I switched to winter house pants.

Butter stays refrigerated, so the 'spreading' on cheap lite braed is not an option.

64 in the winter, 72 summer evenings, 76 day, Florida. When I go to visit relatives in KS during the winter they keep it in the 70s, sweat me out of the house. Was visiting Billings in November back a few years ago, outside in 20s, breakfast restaurant was like an oven, had to strip my outer layers down to my T shirt, was deep into an overheat sweat. I can't breath indoors in the winter if the T'stat hits 70+ This FL boy doesn't understand why the mid-westers insist on so much indoor heat. If I have to turn on the heat in my truck, I must open a window!

257Bob-

Funny about Montana. A few years ago we were staying in a Billings hotel and had to take our jackets with us when we left.. It was 105 outside and about 50 in the damned hotel!

Had a fire yesterday for awhile. House got up around 73F. Was sunny most of the day so we didn't add wood after the morning.

Got down below 70 after sunset, was 66 or so when I fell asleep around 2330.

Wife said it was 63 this morning before she lit the fire again.

Now sitting at 71, just put another split on the fire and closed one damper vent, just to keep it going slowly. Cloudy, threatening rain/sleet/snow so we won't get any solar insolation. on the windows today.
