Don't see a lot of love here for BL-22s. Anyway, here's mine, gifted to me by my father when I was 13 (43 years ago). I've put 10s of thousands of rounds through it, it's still accurate, and I've never had any kind of problems. I'd say it's my favourite rifle, and it still looks better than most new 22s.

They are nice guns I wish they made it in 22 magnum

Bought a grade 2 for my son’s 10th birthday. He’s 35 now. Put a rear peep from a t-bolt and a Williams front on it quick. He still has it and it drives tacks with Remington golden hp.
I think the ergos of the 9422 were better but not by much. BL-22 standing the test of time too bad the 9422 couldn’t.

mine has a blued barrel band. did yours come like that? No. It's actually not blued, it's painted. I chipped the paint about 30 years ago, and when I tried to touch up the blueing I realized it was aluminum, or some other alloy that didn't accept blue. I just removed the paint and left it like that.

Have had mine for over 35 years……. It wears a Skinner peep and brass blade front now. So much fun to shoot hand thrown golf balls with! Its main duty is skunk control though. Great little rifle👍

I’ve had a grade 1 BL22 for 40 years. It was a gift from grandparents when I was around 10. All my kids have learned to shoot rimfire with open sites with it. I shot a pile of REM TBolts through it back in the 80’s. Lots of CCI blazzer also. We still shoot TBolts today in it. In 40 years of ownership, it’s never jammed on me that I can ever recall. It’s my go to small pest removal gun on our property.

I asked my parents for one instead of a graduation class ring. I have enjoyed it more than a ring I wouldn't have worn. Still have the rifle.

No other rimfire lever that’s made today compares quality wise.

My late brother bought a Grade 2 very early in production. They’re really nice rifles, made better than a .22 has to be for certain. I recently found a very pristine 9422 XTR at a very good price, but if that hadn’t happened, the BLR was next on my list.
They’re not something you ever want to take apart it seems…..
What fresh Hell is this?

A lota truth there……I bought one for my teenage daughter, put a decent scope on it. About 10 or so years later ……she and her husband traded it for some cheap a$$ semi auto. 20+ years later…..I’m still pissed! memtb

I love mine. This is a nickel version I picked up a few years ago. It's my second BL-22. Since I started wearing glasses and can see the sights better, it's getting a bit more use. Right now I mostly shoot "quiet" .22 shorts at various undesirable hairy and feathered things. LOP is a bit short for me so I tend to put a Pachmayr slip on recoil pad that adds almost an inch to it. Makes it easier for me to shoot.
