How has it been so far? I have only been out a few times and have yet to limit, but we are seeing ducks on water. This past time out we saw quite a few, but spooked them from a couple of tanks before we could shoot at them. We had some widegon disappear while on our stalk, but we were able to get some handsome mallards in the cooler. Scooch the airedale has been doing really well for her age and inexperience. Six ducks down, six retrieves, five of them from the water.

Just getting started. A surprising number of mallards already. This cold snap through the dakotas should help. The yellow dog was out for a bit with some undiagnoseable cough, but he's back in action, albeit, a bit out of shape.

I have a guided hunt in NW missouri booked for Dec 1,2,3. Hoping to get into big ducks and a variety of geese. Things are shaping up nicely. Missouri duck season has been pretty stale so far.

Ducks have barely started to arrive in small numbers. This week added to the tally a bit. Water resources on the ranch are the best in years. Hoping some COLD in the North will push huntable numbers down to me. Precious days of the Season are going by all to fast.

Awesome... headed to NE in a week. Should time it just right for my 2 week sojourn.

I got back from an elk hunt early, I planned to go puddle jumping yesterday but need to do some stuff as we just bought a house. I have decoy hunts planned the next two Saturdays in a ag field, something I've never done before so I'm super excited

Our's has been slow so far. Plus another group of hunters has discovered my honey hole and moved in on us. Public water, but it sure sucks to hunt a spot for years and then have to deal with squatters beating you there. My secondary spot is good, but the fisherman show up early on nicer days.

Didn't do much over water, went three times helping handicapped hunters. Shot plenty of teal and wood ducks earlier with a much smaller bag of mallards, widgeon, and a couple ring bills mid-November.
Locally shot more ducks than normal while field hunting geese but that is still not a large number. Field shooting ducks in this area is hit or miss with a lot of misses. One does far better further west or even north than this area.
Geese were good though they took a while to get going. I only had one opportunity pass shooting those leaving my neighbor's hayfields but I did take three. The geese never even passed over the other neighbor's soybean field. A buddy found a cornfield that had been chopped for silage which was pulling in birds for some reason. I filled my needs in a couple of trips. I might still head down to Rochester a time or two but mainly to visit the guides. I am treated as free help rather than a client which is fun.

First duck hunt of my year today as we are visiting wife’s grandparents in central Texas. I set up in the dark 30 minutes before shooting time after driving 10 hours yesterday to get here. Took 29 minutes to limit. 3 teal, a ringneck, and hen gadwall. Nothing crazy cool, big, or exotic, but to me, any duck is a good duck. Took my 7 year old shorthair for the first time. He’s a pheasant dog, a bit high strung, hates to sit still, but I think he could out swim a lot of labs, and out retrieve them. 5 ducks down, 5 retrieves. Hopefully tomorrow is as good.

Well done. I'm jealous. Weather has been too nice here to get any migrators yet. Would like to get my wirehairs a swim with purpose!

Slow morning in central Texas…… Took me and the 14 year old a whole hour and half to limit. 8 ringnecks and a pair of gadwalls. I think the mallards are still in Nebraska… Not complaining at all. I think the boy shot better than me, and I’m blaming it on me paying attention to him and not my gun barrel…..

Latest season I can ever remember here. Very few ducks yet. Beginning to wonder if they are coming at all this year. Grandma and Granddaughter waiting... Getting the pup (8 months) on Cacklers instead..

I think I've only killed 6 ducks all season, pretty sure my airedale only has 8 retrieves all season. It was 84* here on Thursday..last 3 or 4times out, I haven't killed a bird. Last time out I didn't see a single duck.
