Nope. She’ll cook it for me but won’t eat it herself. Too much Walt Disney growing up.

Absolutely! In fact she has deer, antelope, elk, and a moose on her resume’…..all before I met her.In fact, it was her son’s moose and she was teaching him how to field dress the animal! memtb

My wife is not interested in hunting, field dressing, or packing out anything.
She will put up deboned meat and has some fairly strong opinions about how it must be done. Same for cooking it.

My little Chinese gal not only helps me when I skin and quarter, last year she helped me drag three out, one in the dead of night. I dragged the first one this season out myself, a short trip, but if I tag another one way back, I’m going home to get her again. All this gun and hunting stuff is totally foreign to someone that grew up in Mao’s China, but she’s all in on “free” meat and fish. She has yet to experience dressing out a deer, but she’s the designated fish-cleaner here. I taught her how to fillet, something the Use-it-All Chinese don’t usually do, and she does a good job on the slimy hatchery rainbows we catch. I call her my cheap foreign labor…..

When we started dating my wife had never been fishing, hunting or even shot ANY type of firearm. I had to jump start her from scratch. I hesitate to add, she’d never cooked any wild game. Until that point she had her really cooked a meal either. But like Kenny’s song said, She had me from hello…just an insanely beautiful person, inside and out.
First date: fishing. She loved it from the first cast, even baiting her own hook. Took home a mess of bream.
That fall she went deer hunting with me. Still getting to know each other…I failed to realize her bladder was half the size of a thimble. She wasn’t about to pee in the woods (yet😆). Eventually she started helping me dress deer. My sweet mama took her under her wing and taught her how to cook when we started dating. She now goes with me on all my hunts out west. She’s one of the finest cooks I’ve ever seen. Thanks mama for your patience. She’s not a trigger puller but anything else is perfectly routine now.
I’ll post some pics tomorrow.

Nope. She'll help grind and run the sausage stuffer when more than 2 hands are needed though.
I've tried to get her to go to Montana with me, but she's not interested.

I cut this season's deer and the wife bagged and put in the freezer. Her sister helps track and drag deer, so getting things done is a family affair.

I hang and bone it out, then she does the rest.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

None of my girl friend including the present have any interest in participating in either the hunt or the processing. And I like it that way. I did have one back in 2004-2009 that did take some pride in catching fish and making them for dinner. She also would cook some venison.

Nope, my wife has never had the least bit of interest in hunting or anything that goes along with it. She will cook anything that I harvest. She has never given me any grief about my hunting trips either.
