I wonder what he tells people how it happened? Does he tell them he was an idiot, or make up some lie I have a friend in the Marines who is missing the end of his thumb. I am sure there is some banal backstory, but I don’t know it, because he always makes up a new version whenever someone asks. I’ve heard about 20 different versions, including “when they tell you not to play with bandsaws… I was interrogating a detainee and he bit it off… I was barracuda fishing…”

Binky, now dead from a feline virus, was a polar bear in the Anchorage zoo. He scored a tennis shoe he took off some dumass woman. It was a trophy he carried around and played with for months and would not let his mate touch it.
The whole thing was pretty funny.
