Was easy to get behind. Unlike other mid tiers the glass dropped out of the dark woods before my own eyes did. Cant ask too much for the price though and from first shots in I dialed to POI. Simple sight in though I’ve not rung it out much. Kid had a bear tag to try to fill and it was last night of 4 day season. Were you able to see crosshairs until end of legal shooting? 1/2 hour after sunset was no problem for me at all.

I have a couple of 3x9 S1's. I like them just as well as many of my higher prices scopes. Just order a 1.75x5x32 for a single shot 30-30. Will most likely order a couple of more by Christmas. Looking forward to o seeing how it works out for a few setups I have in play.

Being a Sightron fan I was excited when Doug announced the release of the G2’s. I was a little disappointed there was no 2-7, or an S2 series, but after hearing the reviews I went ahead and ordered one of the 1.75-5’s to try out. Thanks all for the review/info.

I mentioned to the wife I'd like one for Christmas. I may see how it works on a No. 1. That should be a good eye relief test.

I've got one on a Tikka 308. Haven't shot it much yet but happy with it thus far.

Been awhile since that’s happened. It held until shooting light I guess but that’s early in PA. Super nice to get behind and let’s be honest, it’s a $200 scope in my preferred range when most won’t offer that. I can’t expect mid tier glass in an entry scope. Some mid-upper tiers perform worse in low light honestly. My 1.8-5.5 Zeiss conquest sorta sets the bar for low light, easy to get behind, low cost but it was still 2-3xx the little Sightron. For the cost its features and quality out punch scopes 2-3x the cost. I’ll buy another or three I’m sure.

Not knocking it and it’s subjective. I’ll hang a chart at some point and see how close it is to other glass. It is easy to dial accurate only small sample. I don’t run straight tube or small objective below 36mm so may he good comparable to others like it when sun drops. I would like a 36-38mm objective but that’s just picking at minor details.

I was most impressed with the fact that it dialed accurately when I zero'd it, and that it held zero. I'm gonna look through it more after last light. I could see the crosshairs fine through 1/2 hour after sunset, but haven't looked through it in the woods past that.

I’ve not rung it out at all though. Had to throw a gun together for my son last minute.

Also wasn’t saying the zeiss lineup is the best lowlight. Just the best I own in a low power large ocular/objective at the moment. I liked Kahles CSX/C lineup to when offered in 1.5-6x42, always wanted to try a Diavari Victory and heard good things about the German version Duralyt but those rarely show up for resale to try one. Might try a S+B in that range next. Not a lot of options in my preferred 1.5-anythingx42mm, think Meopta R1 and a few others might offer close to the same range/size.

I wouldn’t have seen it listed without Mainer mentioning it.

How's the stray light handling on this model?
The G2 4-12x40 non-AO is really bad. The worst I have seen with any scope on hand or from recollection.

I've got two of them, one on a Henry big boy 45-70, liked the scope so much bought another one for the wifes new Tikka 350 Legend. Great scope for the money. Both from Camera Land.

I was most impressed with the fact that it dialed accurately when I zero'd it, and that it held zero. That's no surprise to those of us that have been using Sightrons for years. -Al

I hope they come out with this optic with their HHR reticle. That would make it the top contender for my hunting rifles for the PA big woods.
