Guessing probably 99% of all large game animals WORLDWIDE are shot within 200 yards and probably 75% of them within a 100 yards.

I don't shoot or hunt anywhere near as often as many of you, nor am going to pretend to me an expert "keyboard" or otherwise.

I've taken over a 100 deer in my life, 6 elk, 12-15 antelope, hunted in Red stag in Scotland along with a Roe Deer. Been to Africa 3x.

I've taken two deer around 600 yards, one was a fluke. I'd say 15-20 at tops animals between 200-300 yards with the vast majority of them between 75-150.

Reality is the VAST majority of hunters don't need to dial or need x-mas tree reticles.

Regarding Leupolds, maybe they don't track the best but I wonder how many old friction adjustments scopes are out there that once set (pain in the a$$ to do that sometimes) but have never once lost zero? I know I have quite a few and some of them have been on horseback hunts, been dropped, etc.

While I can understand and agree with your point - assuming all one does is hunt and never shoots that rifle recreationally outside of their 2-3 week deer season etc. All the shots taken at game are what % of all the shots taken at targets be it plinking, PRS, gun games etc? It's not >100% and I'd be surprised if it's >25%.

The reason why scopes have the illuminated Christmas tree is because hunting is declining as the primary reason people shoot. Plinking, gun competition, games etc is increasing.

"A scope I can hunt with" is a secondary concern for a lot of people. They use it to do other things and those other things, by nature of volume of rounds fired/time spent - gets the majority of priority when it comes to feature set. So the scope mfgs service the demand.

If the demand was there for a #4 post and crosshair - we'd have it, a lot of it. The invisible hand of the market is influencing the makers - not the makers forcing the market to comply with some desire to make a more complicated (costly to mfg) offering.

I know it's hard for you to not make, well, everything, about you, but losing your shiit because I'm supplying actual data while you, quite obviously, rely 100% on feelings, doesn't really add much. I could own nothing other than a squirt gun and it wouldn't change the fact that the link I posted is in direct conflict with the "facts" you scream at everyone all the time.

HUH? The Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 2-12x42's are in stock
Thanks Doug.
I went to the site picked Athlon and saw the first scope on that page in stock. Next 2 full pages out of stock. I just knew I was looking for a 2-12 and so didn't search by model. Most sites I look at have their in stock come up first and when out of stock starts appearing, there's no need to keep searching page by page, so I stopped looking after the first 3 pages.

No worries. They are revamping some of their scope lines so we are thinning out some of their series of scopes prepping for the newer ones

It has proven to be a very dependable scope and priced right

And if you checked what they used in the F-Class nationals, you wouldn't find a single Leupold in use.

Well, what scopes do they use? All I see here is the same boring copy and paste insults.

How about naming these wonderful scopes.
