How about addressing these pop up adds. Brave, Adblock and they are getting by. Many others are also seeing the same thing. Unless you are hunting or fishing, please fix this ad cluster. They are passing Brave on my phone, and Adblock on my tablet! Being technicly challanged, I'm counting on you.
Thanks in advance. Bill

Yeh Rick Bin. Please tell your advertisers they can’t advertise. I’m tired of the pop-ups also on this free website.

Advertising is one thing keep them to the side. Pop up ads suck. Off to any other site. People shouldn't have to buy ad bolckers to enjoy their phones, computers, or tablets. If Rick needs money to keep this place going, then charge to subscribe, and I will pay to play. I never buy from pop up ad placers. My two cents.

What can't be easy for Rick - it's not affecting everyone.

I've been on with Brave on Android phone - zero ads. I'm on Chrome desktop with AdBlock - zero ads. Others, on the same equipment are getting ads.

So how do you know where to fight it? Tells me it's not just Rick hanging ads on the forum for money - there's something being done without his input. Be it local ISPs or whatever.

I never, ever see ads or popups.

Firefox browser and Ublock Origin ad blocker. They are both free.

I use firefox with ad block on my personal lap top and chrome with ad block on my work desktop - zero ads. I don't even bother going to this site on my phone. PITA.

Advertising is one thing. But when those advertisements are ‘these’ kind of advertisements ~ where you try to click on the X to make it go away, and you’re off by a nanometer so it takes you AWAY from the Campfire and to the advertisers website ~ then that’s bullschit. ALL of the websites that I patronize are “FREE” websites, and NONE of em’ have crap like this new addition to the Campfire mentioned above.

When guys who have been here for a couple of decades or more are bitchin’ about it, it OUGHTA matter to the Campfire’s owner. When it interferes with the usability of the website like it does, it OUGHTA matter to the Campfire’s owner.

I get it - I've seen these types of ads a lot on unprotected computers, usually on websites like Ebaums world, Drudge etc - aggregators with a lot of linked content. But again -

What can't be easy for Rick - it's not affecting everyone.

I've been on with Brave on Android phone - zero ads. I'm on Chrome desktop with AdBlock - zero ads. Others, on the same equipment are getting ads.

It can't be something Rick has set up or allowing. I find it hard to believe he had ads that can defeat Brave/AdBlock but selectively choses which campfire members to target with them - hitting some, letting others go. That's not Rick.

He's got a hard ask to figure that out.

I have zero problem supporting this website that I have been a part of for 20 years by looking at ads.

watch TV and support communists but complain about ads on a website that supports hunting and gun owners. Yeah that makes sense
