The Valmet was a popular model in Europe and also in America and it slowly evolved from the 412 to the 412S and then was bought out by Tikka rifle works with Sako in control and then became the Tikka 512 model. Finally, when production went to Italy it was part of the Finnclassic range. Anyone with a Tikka 512 was made by Tikka. The 412 was a nicer version of the 412S. It had better wood and a different stock configuration. Inside they were the same gun. The 512 guns were made in Italy by Marocchi on SAKO tooling. I took a 512 set to Tanzania. It was 12/9.3X74R and 9.3X74R O/U. Each set had a low power variable scope.

I’ve always dreamed of a combo gun and 20 years ago bought one. Never have shot it. I’ll die with it. It’s a Franz Sodia 16 gauge over 6.5x57. I wish I had another set of barrels in 28 gauge over 22 hornet. You could pick up a savage 24 model. Their affordable . Good luck!!

The Savage 24 is more readily available but I have found that the barrels don't always shoot to same point. For a while I owned a Tika (Ithaca) in 12 over 222 Rem. Super gun but then we lost the use of rifles for fall turkey so it was on no good to me any longer. If that is really what you want, keep looking as you may be disappointed with anything else.

On a postal scale with 1 3/4-5x scope my 12ga. weighs 8.52 and my 20ga. weighs 8.12 with 1 3/4-5x scope. My arm doesn't feel the 4oz. difference. And NO they are not for sale, I have only seen two 20ga. the first was at a gun show and looked like a barn gun, I own the second, it's in pristine condition. I also ran across a 22High power 20ga. a few years ago.

My only combo gun now is a 22High Power 12 gauge BRNO. It shoots very well now but took some work to figure out the reloading and brass situation. This is a European gun and is chambered too tight for 22 HP ammo so I relieved the chamber just enough to allow 22HP brass a snug fit while shooting European ammo without excess room. I shoot 60 grain hollow points .228 diameter for varmints and have a .224 Barnes ttsx load for game.

I have one of those BRNO ZH series in 12 over 12 and 7x57R over 12. It’s a very good deer rifle.

Have a 512S with 12/12 and 9.3/9.3 X 74 mm. Barrel sets. Looks like I could use a gun with a lighter set. Don't know if they are made but a 410 or 28 over 223 or 22 Hi power would work well. Probably would go on a lighter frame. Hope the OP has something to use now. As an official enabler Simpson has several o/u's right now. RZ.
