Took my son out this morning to try to fill his late season Idaho desert elk tag. At first light found a large herd of around 75-100 elk and made a play on them. He made a great 211 yard neck shot dropping this big cow in her tracks. She was dead before her feet hit the ground. At just 16, the bugger has already harvested 5 bucks and 4 elk - he’s a killer!!! 150 grain scenar from the old Tikka seven mag added another critter to its kill list. Both my son and daughter managed to kill bucks in October and late season cow elk!
