I don't know if any here knew him but his videos and 79s's posts are 100% the cause of my interest in High Power Service Rifle has passed away. Dec 17, in his sleep - likely heart attack.
I've watched every one of his videos at least 4 times as I look to learn. Never met the guy, figured I would at some point given he's in IL and I'm in WI.
Faaak!!! That saddens me to no end. Konrad was truly one of the good guys. I was an adopted member of the Illinois Hard Dogs and was fortunate to spend time with Konrad. He was an engineer and took a very methodical approach to his shooting (it's very evident in his videos). He was forever a student of the sport and was always striving to improve this or that aspect of his shooting even if he was already competing at a very high level.
In true engineer fashion, he chronicled his shooting journey beginning at Marksman (the first classification) and shared the good and the bad and his plans to improve. It wasn't long before he passed me by in scores and skill and attained his position as one of the premier civilian riflemen in the nation. Throughout he was generous with his knowledge and always gave his best insights when asked.
There was actually one bit of information that Konrad held close to his chest and refused to share with me (actually he claimed he couldn't remember). Konrad convinced some of the top shooters in Highpower Rifle to plug in on his NOPTEL. A Noptel is an electronic trainer with a sensor on the muzzle that displays a "trace" of the muzzle movement on a computer screen. He had some of the big names in highpower rifle including Carl Bernosky, Sheri Gallagher, Brandon Green and Ty Cooper do a Noptel session with him in the Standing position. He shared the results (traces) on his webpage without identifying which shooter was which. Some of us had theories of what trace belonged to who...but Konrad was very tight lipped on the key code. My plan was to feed hi truth serum (beer) until he spilled the beans...but now I'll never know!.
One of Konrad's favorite sayings was "Mental focus, not equipment hocus-pocus".

RIP Konrad!
Thanks for confirming something I often felt must be true. Konrad was an engineer. I only know him via his videos and web page but it just screamed engineer to me.
Cannot say I shot “against” the man back in the day. Would enjoy stories told in the pits of his endeavors… Loved the sport until I didn’t … RIP sir.
"Stick said" You two Crying Kchunts bolted together couldn't fill a TicTac Dispenser with "all" the empty brass you "shot" this year. Fortunately for you gals, even YOU can "afford" to "contribute",though only with Estrogen. Hint.
I’m not going to call him a celebrity because he wouldn’t want that. But new guys who saw him made time to go talk to him. Best place to find him at Perry besides the range was at White Oak shop he be in there bs with John.

I was deeply saddened when I saw this on FB. I met Konrad this year at Perry after the P100 shootoff to thank him for his videos and tell him how much they helped me transition to Highpower from Smallbore and Airgun. It's a true loss to the community but his impact on it will live forever.

Konrad will be sorely missed. His thing with the Noptel managed to get me to plug into one. Evidently I can shoot offhand better than I can but I don't know it LOL. Prone slow it was amazing how still I could hold which explains things too.
What a shame.
Another one has left the range. He will be missed. We are saddened at the loss and offer our thoughts, prayers and condolences.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
