Went to my local gun shop that my buddy owns to pick up waterfowl shells and saw they had two Ruger No 1 that an older gentleman had in there on consignment. I was able to get this 243 win for $1000. I was looking to see if i did good with this purchase and any info i can get on it? Looked up the serial number on Ruger’s website and its a year 1975

If thats a varmint model then check your twist, Ruger had a habit of putting 12 twist instead of 10 in varmint models.

Bought mine in 1979. It will still print 3 shot clover leafs at a hundred yards!
It "loves" 130 grain Sierre BTSP!

The No. 1's bring crazy money around here and most will bring $1200-1400 for the red pad guns.

I am always looking for factory wood stocks!
