I’m not exactly old yet but over the hill of 40. I don’t find getting in and out of packrafts all that difficult at all. If these guys buying corvettes in their 60s can get in and out of that a packraft will be easy day wink

Atleast it’s only $360 with the 10% off. Sure the kids gotta give up the next shoe size to get it but they won’t need shoes floating around in it wink

Going to be a lot more with the tariffs!

Think it will be easier to use than my Kayaks or Stand up boards. Use it or loose it saw some kaykers this year in late 70,s been out all summer long all over AK.

Well, my Kokopelli XPD came today, seven days after I ordered it. It has a zipper for storing gear inside tubes, a pump, inflatable seat, and a removable fin for tracking. Lots of tie downs. The paddle and zipper were extra cost. The new XPD is 9# and a little wider lighter material.

It came in a huge box, and free shipping to Alaska! At 14 #, it is probably more of a car, plane, or wheeler boat.

I get the idea behind these pack rafts. But seriously, how can an adult fit inside one and fish and paddle? Wouldn’t you also need to be wearing chest waders when using one of these?

In my inflatable Kayaks have rod holders mostly troll flys hands are free to paddle, can easily sit inside with legs straight, have a small bag under knees, going to have a small gear bag strapped behind me. Minimalist not out there all day, lots of lakes from the wheeler I want to fish. Or just jet boat up Knik and let the family float back. Lots of options. They are better than a float tube in my opinion.

Not usually a joiner but Kurt makes some very good points about their utility. I keep wondering whether or not I could hunt up some drainages that were formerly breakers of friendships...because who wants to carry a moose out three miles. This can make it a possibility if I prepare well for such an adventure.

Now on to some formal training so that I don't look like an old fart trying to get out of a Ferrari. https://www.tiktok.com/@jubalde/video/7213856860938538282

Mine showed up this weekend. Pretty stout boat, but should be fun. Hopefully it holds up ok. I didn't get free shipping.... Weird.

I'm pathetic... I just had to see what this sheet-filtered jerk wad had to squirt on us.

I'm easily amused, as embarrassing as it might be.

That bison hunt was so funny. Just get chuckles on how hard it seemed by the film but how easy it really is. Other than packing the meat to the raft part sometimes.
