Some mixed ducks , both divers and puddle ducks drifting in over the last few days. Some limited jump shooting has been moderately successful. I am shooting well up to my standards, just difficult to get shooting opportunities inside 45 yards. LOTS of water on the ranch this year, the few ducks here are well spread out. I had a good limit shoot yesterday on some new arrivals, Mallards, Gadwalls and Widgeon mixed with 2 Greenwings. I assume they were arriving ahead of our first real cold front of the season. We awoke to 18*F here at the ranch this morning. I hope we have acquired enough new arrivals to keep us in birds until the season end on the 26th. Good Luck to all of you who have open season days remaining.

Had a good one Sunday in driving rain, turned into freezing rain, then snow. Conditions were miserable and everyone was cold and wet. But, keeping barrels warm helps. Most were shot after 11 am. Locked up this morning.

Nothing to really speak of here, a couple decent woodduck hunts, hopefully the weather this week brings more down, finally saw our first ringers of the year this past week, usually some bb and redheads mixed in when they get thick.

Shot 3 limits Saturday morning under clear and cold skies. Sunday morning was fog and drizzle, killed 3 teal and a spoony.

Perfect conditions. Snow, ice, sun, wind.
Ran ice eaters all night, had a monster hole open. Worked a few, but it was pathetic. At sunset, tens of thousands came off the refuge and landed on the ice. Gone in the morning.
That's hunting pressure. And the full moon. Wins every time.
Morale is low. I'm not a quitter. Be back at it soon.

Cold snap continues, and with it some new arrivals.....Shot a full limit , all Greenwing Drakes, in 35 minutes two days ago. Got a mixed bag limit yesterday in an hour at another waterhole. Hopefully we can keep enough around to give me the same kind of action until the season ends on the 26th. I am fortunate to be able to control the shooting pressure on my waters so I think if the weather cooperates we can squeak out a good last month of the season. We wasted a lot of the season with few to NO ducks down here. Good Luck to all of you still chasing them.

The last 3 or 4 times I have been out, I have not SEEN a duck, let alone kill one. It has been BAD out here in Arizona this season. Most of the tanks I hit have water, they just don't have any ducks.

Poor Everywhere! For years we blamed it on multiple different boogeymen. The fact is they dont exist. The feds numbers are bogus. I used to think their method was bad. Now I think its intentional. Their entire budgets revolve around license sales. And the last thing they will do is cut their own budgets.
