Who’s been swordfishing and where’s the best place to go out of?
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Went out of Venice, LA on a trip to the rigs targeting tuna, snapper, and generally anything worth catching. The tuna bite in the AM tapered off and after we limited out on snapper, it was around noon. The captain asked if we wanted to catch a sword. I said sure but thought it was just a way to burn time until the afternoon tuna bite started again. Around 1 PM and after about 5 minutes of a squid hitting the bottom at 1,500 feet, the rod tapped, and he said sword on. About 25 minutes later, we had a 120# fish in the boat. I was surprised today the least. We ended up fighting two more but couldn’t boat them for various reasons.
I will go back to Venice again as the fishery there is simply fantastic.

I've been once with Leighton in the keys, islamarada. we were skunk([bleep] charter), and that turned into a fiasco on their part.

I have never been sword fishing. As far as table fare goes, they are one of my favorites.

Venice is probably your best bet because you can target Tuna as well as swords. I did a tuna trip over there with Mexican Gulf and we had a whole package that included lodging, they own some houses. Lots of options for guides out of venice, just do a google search. If you want to do just swords Adam Peeples out of Destin is one of the best in the Northern gulf. Send me a PM if you want Adam's contact info.
