That rifle has a spectacular stock.

I have seen the rest of the pictures and all of them are as good as the one above.

If one has enough money and that perfect rifle would please them then buy it.

If you have use for a Swift I suggest you grab it.

Even if you don't have a use for it, grab it. One thing I would do, as suggested earlier in the thread is contact Mr. Worthing, he likely can tell you whether or not is it an Ottmar rifle.

His work was on par with some but second to none. Have always wanted one of his rifles, every one I have ever seen is done with such attention to detail and sense of proportion that it is a pleasure to look at even if it is not in a style I would normally like.

David Christman probably has more information on Maurice Ottmar than even Chic.

David said when Maurice was at Trinidad John Amber came in and saw Maurice smoking in an inlet job. He introduced himself to Maurice and said I would like for you to stock a rifle for me. Back in the earlier days a recommendation from Amber was worth a career. The best part was Maurice was a very kind gentleman.

I have an Ottmar model 98 in 25-284, just gorgeous! Working up loads and naturally it a shooter! It likes 115 Accubonds and H 4831. Beautiful English Walnut with flawless checkering and birds peak checkered steel butt plate, best for up I’ve ever seen! I would like to sell it and am open for offers. I live near Sequim WA so this rifle never traveled far from Coulee City.

I recall seeing a photo of a Maurice Ottmar rifle in Wayne Van Zwoll’s elk hunting book. IIRC, it was a Mauser in 9.3X64. It was a piece of art. Love at first sight for me.
