Just wondering if anybody here has any parts available for one of these? Numrich does not even list this rifle.

I am looking for a screw that holds the forearm on and a "tube clip" for the tip of the tube.

Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.

Dave

I have to find a couple for the 25's that I just picked up. I think the 14 or 29's may work.

Someone told me the 29's won't but the 1914's should as they're closer to the 25's than the 29's.

Wesj and Mad Dog,

Thanks for the replies and information. Now, I am wondering if anybody has either model that they can try on a model 25?

I have been in touch with a couple of other campfire members about this so maybe they might be able to shed some light on this subject.

I will wait and see if they chime in here?

Dave

If you show me pics of the screws And hanger I might be able to help as I said before, but can't help if I don't know what they look like.

I did some comparing of the forearm screws. First you have to know which version of the model 25 you have. The early version screws had a flanged head and measure .312 dia, the late ones measure .294 dia and will fit the early version. The early version will not fit the latter without being turned down slightly. The 1914 screws are noticably smaller. A model 29 screw I checked measured .280 dia and fits showing a slight gap. All have a lock washer. The lengths are all within a few thousands but the lock washer thickness is a little different and a couple of the screws seem to have the ends rough ground or worn so the length may be important because they only appear to engage a few threads and should not protrude through.

I think that the 25 was only listed in 2 catalogs with one showing each version. The late version only has the wood of the forearm around the magazine tube.

Thanks Gene, that just cleared up a whole lotta questions.

Looks like you gotta find the same gun model parts for the same model.

Good thing I let that 1914 forearm on Ebay pass last week, was gonna grab it just for the screws.

Gene,

Thank you for posting those great pictures and all that information. It looks like I have the early version.

I am hoping Gene will post a picture of the muzzle end of the ammo tube of the "tube clip" as I am missing that piece as well. I don't know if any other Savage model rimfires that may have a similar tube clip?

Now, if anyone has a source for the screws or a parts gun around, maybe I can purchase what I need. By some miracle, maybe someone will see the tube clip I am needing as well. If all else fails, I spoke to a semi retired gunsmith today who said he will make me one if necessary.

Thanks to everyone for everything so far.

Dave

Looks like I have found everything that I am needing for my model 25 thanks to Tal35.

I hope the rest of you that are also looking for parts for yours find what you need.

Just wanted to also say THANK YOU to everybody that I contacted along the way on my search. Your help won't be forgotten. This is what I love about the Campfire and the great people that I have been able to communicate with.

Ahhhhaha, funny guy George.

Need something that looks like this.

My smith has one but won't give it up to me for some reason. Not sure why cause the stock is busted all to crap with copper pins and straps holding it together. Says he got it from an inuit and it has character. I told him he can keep the character just sell me the bolt and the tube for Todd.
