Little longer throat life, little less recoil (Less powder) and the MV's in comparison factory Hornady ammo the GT is close in short barrels 15" and 16" Jordan Smith pretty much nailed it. You get Dasher performance in a factory case (No fireforming) and have factory ammunition options. and it works better in mags as well some will say.
There are a bunch of articles out there about comparing the BRA, Dasher, GT and Creed in 6mm...Just do some searching. Hornady didn't create the cartridge - Tom Jacobs of Vapor Trail (VT) bullets and George Gardner of GA Precision (GAP) did.
I’m intrigued but why not the 6cm? Aren’t they steppin on their own nuts here?
What are the pros and cons over the 6cm?
Yup.
As Ernie said, longer barrel life, lower powder consumption, and less recoil for spotting shots, compared to the 6 CM. Slightly less velocity than the 6 CM.
It’s funny how magazine compatibility is an issue. Every screwtube shooter single-feeds and has the stupid 2-round Velcro holder on the side. Yet, they have detachable magazines.
I hear ya bsa I only pay attention when it can be bought off the shelf and especially with an eld murder tucked in the one end. I don’t look at things through the target lense but the hunting lense. Seems lots to like for sure. The cm may make more sense currently for me but in time if as popular and ammo choices catch it then I’d prolly lean to the gt as I like more moderate than hot rod attributes. Already having Grendels rules out more x39 cases for me and I like nicer rifles than what Grendels/arcs come in so this appeals for nice rifle short action ease. Will be fun to watch it grow. Have always liked my buddies dashers but zero interest in all that goes into that high maintenance relationship.
I was partially curious to the up to date consensus here but equally I was hoping someone would fire stick up and get some lashings like the prc vs cm thread...was amusing and I was bored. Maybe he’s waiting for the right response and has the chamber loaded lol?

Man, the GT is a bad azzed cartridge. My 6.5 Creedmoor's shoot damn well. I run the 147 ELD match bullets, and they put a whipping to the wind. Or so I thought, until I watch guys running the GT. I witnessed that over 2 years ago, and it's a cartridge I may rebarrel one of my Tikka CTR's to, eventually. There's still a lot of barrel life in my 6.5's, so I have not done it. Don't discount how good the GT is though. It might have a weird nickname, but man does it defy the wind. The targets I practice on at 400 yards are narrow steel prairie dogs, and crows, and the creedmoor makes solid hits, even when wind speeds get up to 12 mph or so. That's about all I can compare it to, and say the GT is even better. Those guys, I shoot with, are all running hybrid bullets in the 108gr weight range.
Here's a good example. At a measly 6mph wind, the 2 bullets put on this steel dog were pushed over to the left: Correction, the rifle I was using that day was my first CTR, and it uses the 140gr ELD match.
A GT would have hammered that sob square in the center. Wind not affecting it at all. More like the 147gr ELD match bullets I use in my second CTR.. The GT doesn't recoil as much, so you can spot your shots through your scope, much easier. So, it has a few advantages over the good ol Creed.
If you are just looking for a good "hunting" cartridge, just look for a fast twist 243 Tikka.. The GT is made for competition, and it really shines in that department.
I know you like keeping it simple, like I do. The reason I suggest the Tikka for a hunting rifle. Use your Burris with ballistic plex reticle, and you are golden, out to sane hunting distances.
Check out this video. This is what the GT was designed to do:
