I inherited a Ruger air rifle complete with a Ruger marked scope. it was made in China. It works fine, albeit it is heavy. Does the Ruger name on it lend any value? I vaguely remember when Ruger sold these.

I believe Ruger air rifles are manufactured by Umarex and are sold by Walmart and Academy Sports

I have one I bought at Bass Pro. Basic springer, nothing special, I think I paid around $100.

I believe Ruger air rifles are manufactured by Umarex and are sold by Walmart and Academy Sports Among others. Yep. IIRC, they were $125-ish. Have read more positive reviews than the price tag may have suggested.

Made for Ruger by Umerex in China as others have said. I'd put them with the other Chinese airguns.

It was the right price. Go out and carefully shoot it with a wide variety of pellets to see what it likes. Buy lots of what it likes if you want a shooter. They don't bring a lot here used. Might just turn out to have a good shooter there. It may lead you to get into the higher cost German precision spring or gas piston rifles. Watch your billfold. It is a rabbit hole to go down. RZ.

Yep, price new a $100 + so not a high $ item. They are heavy as are most air rifles. The .22 I had was fairly loud, no quieter that a .22 CB Cap so IMO it didn’t replace my much lighter .22 rim fire with the CB caps for back yard beasties.
By the time I added a higher quality scope, the thing weighed 8 1/2 lbs.
It certainly is worth its price however.

I have one. It's a good rifle and worth the money, but I never mounted the scope that came with it. As others said Umarex makes it, so the Ruger name doesn't add any real value.
