Good old Interlock flat bases work great on deer from 308 or 30-06.

150gr NAB / NBT combo. Both work nicely and will often shoot to a similar point of aim. Great results with the .308Win over the years.

Now with even more aplomb

150gr Speer Hotcor out of my 30-06 @ 200yds. This is the only weight bullet I use in my 30-06 for deer hunting, I flip back and forth between 150spire point or Hotcor, never an issue with a solid hit.

Mine shoots NBT's best in a 150gr pill. But it likes 155gr eld-m's and scenar's better.

tipped SGK or BT. From one year to the next I'll go back and forth between 150 and 165.

Hornady Interlock SP. If we are talking 308 win. Could easily be a TTSX, if loading for something faster in .308 though.. This is the deer hunting forums though. No need to overthink it..

My "favorite" is any 30 cal 150 grain that doesn't break up and always gives me exits. And for me 150 grain 30 cals are always used in my 300 Savages, 308 Winchesters and my 30-06s because for my 300 mags I go with 180s and 200s. In my 30-30 I always use 170s

Some that I have had very good results with in the past.
Nosler partitions.
Round Nose Remington Core Lokts
Speer Mag-Tips

In the last few years I have also used some Nosler Ballistic Tip HUNTING in my 300 Savages, and so far I like them.

I have a bunch of the Hornady #3031. But last fall I scrounged up some old Remington Bronze Points. They shot to POI with the Hornady in my Ruger No 1 30-06. I never got to try them on deer as I opted for the Marlin 336A 35 Rem on the first and only day of deer season this year. I have a Remington 660 coming in 308 Win and am hoping for the same.
