For elk 150 Pt, I’ve witnessed several elk killed with them, all with 30-06’s. I’ve killed 4 elk with the 150 TTSX, they expanded, but not much, all exited.
My buddy likes 150 ETips in his grandson’s 30-06 at moderate velocity and recoil.

I don't have a 308. I like to shoot rimmed cartridges out of my No. 1 & my 1885 so I have a pair of similarly-sized 303 British.
Every 150gr Hornady Interlock SP has killed what it has hit so zero complaints with that particular bullet.

I use the 150-grain Hornady Interlock SP and the Remington Corelokt PSPCL in several deer rifles. They've pole-axed about the same number of Whitetails at our deer camp, and both were used in our longest distance records (200 and 285 yards)

I haven't used 150's in my 308's for years, but when I did, the 150 Hotcore was my favorite. Took my heaviest whitetail with that bullet.

Does the 30 cal 154.7gr Lapua Scenar count? I thought my 308 win was respectively accurate until I tried this bullet. Suddenly started stacking holes down range. And excellent terminal performance. I tested this bullet in wet newsprint and this is a genuine hunting bullet disguised in target fashion. Yes it counts. As a hunting bullet does it stand out or is it's accuracy it's selling point? It is advertised and promoted for its truly excellent accuracy, but many have discovered that it is has exceptional terminal performance on game. I have shot (rough guess) 20 ish elk with the 155 Scenar. I used my 20" .308 on almost all the elk, with a couple shot with my 26" Sako TRG .308. One was under 100 yards, a few in the high 300s, the majority in the 400s, and only one over 600, (615) that I used my little 20" T3. I definitely don't recommend that, as I was not real comfortable with it, but I had almost everything in my favor, and with a single bullet the small cow dropped. It was actually a shot while she was slowly walking but the lead was an easy one, as I am very familiar with the ballistics of the .308 and shooting moving targets. Even so, I still don't recommend it, and would have normally passed but it was the last day, and I had missed most of the season. The Tikka .308 and 155 Scenar is an incredibly deadly combination on game. While I have been shooting the 6.5 Manbun recently, I still consider the Tikka T3 .308/155 Scenar to be my one gun/do everything, everywhere setup. 155 Scenar for everything.

155 Scenar for everything. A great recommendation Mackay! I plan on developing a Scenar load for my 308 MT this summer - I've got 500 of the "original" 155's on hand lol!

I have no favorite because any 150 will kill a deer. My daughter shot a mature cow elk this year with The 150 hornady inter lock. 180 yards and we found it under the hide on the far side. Perfect mushroom. Edk

I've used both the 150 gr Interlock and Hot Cor launched from the .308 Win with good (and unsurprising) terminal results. Forgot to mention that the 150 gr X and TSX both worked perfectly fine for me, as well. Pretty hard to go wrong with a 150-165 gr bullet in the .308, as far as terminal performance is concerned.

They are pretty explosive at less than 100yds.mb

Barnes TTSX, never have I had one reason to try something else, they work and you won’t likely recover one.

My favorites are the old Norma semi spitzer boat tails in the red boxes. They’ve always shot great and killed bears and deer well out of my 300 Savages. I think I have 2 1/2 boxes left plus some 180s I load in 30/06. I probably just like them because they’re odd and out of production for longer than I’ve been alive.
But Sierras, Hornadys, Noslers, and Barnes have all been fine too. I bet you could kill a deer with the end of a qtip loaded to 2700fps, they’re not large or hard to penetrate.

+ 1 on 150 gr. Accubonds. My Savage Mod. 10 in 300 WSM is a one load rifle. Over the last 20 years it has taken Mule Deer, Whitetail, Pronghorn, and even a pig all with one load. That 150 gr. Accubond load is the accuracy king in that gun so I stuck with it. It's right out of the Nosler reloading manual, (no lunatic loads for me), A 150 gr. Accubond averaging 3207 FPS is the "hammer of Thor" on deer size critters and all with one shot apiece. Although nothing beyond 240 lasered yards, (Pronghorn buck), and years ago I had a suitable 180 gr. load worked up in case I ever got to pursue elk, but I'm getting too old for that now. Tried that same 150 gr. load out with just the substitution of a 150 gr. Speer Hotcor in place of the 150 Accubond and that shot very good also but have never pointed it at a game animal yet. I have lots of the Accubonds but it's nice to know there's other options. Years ago on the high plains of Wyoming I also got to witness a 150 gr. Accubond launched from a 300 RUM flatten a large mule deer that was running left to right at over 200 yds. He went down in less than 10 yards. For a hunting bullet; I'm a big fan.
