This guide, holding my fish, left one strap on the boat. If you leave two straps on the boat, it doesn't move and nothing happens. BUT if you leave one strap on, it becomes a goat rodeo when the boat gets kittywumpas on the trailer. Lost a half hour of my life and almost died from holding my laughter. Guide said it looks like my first day. I told him his tip is to remove both straps every time.

Work of a shrike. Creepy, but nature is cruel.

Shot the wrong buck this day in my excitement...and to add to the insult, I had to cross this river in my underwear to go get him.
Good times!

After mule deer in my old stomping grounds. Same horse I have had since I was a teen, but he's up there in age now.

Wild Arctic char from the North Slope. I believe this one had been tagged at one point since the adipose was clipped, but they've been in these tundra ponds naturally since the last ice age.

Waiting for the herd bull to give me a shot. He did a few moments later.

One of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. Still wasn't positive he was legal, so I belly crawled closer.

Nature be cruel, again...not mine. Just a marten trap I came by that someone had caught a camp robber in, and a lynx had it for lunch.

May as well be where they filmed Lord of the Rings. No wizards walked out of the rocks though.

Suffolk County England roe deer. One of the funnest, most relaxing hunts I have been on. Nothing big antler wise and nothing physically hard, but a lot of trigger time and straight up FUN.

Leanwolf gets the coolest pickup award. I’d love to have that rig to pull my boat and haul my firewood.

Thank you for the compliment. I bought the 1975 Ford F250 4x4 390 V8 new in '75. Put quite a few hunting, camping, fishing miles on it, including a monthly trip to my wife's and my cabin in the Sierra. Believe me, that 4x4 could come in very handy up in the Sierra in snowy or rainy weather. When hunting I used to at times, sleep in the back, a four inch foam pad and a goose down sleeping bag. It was cozy.

I sold it to a bear hunter here in 2021. I was not using it for outdoor ventures anymore. Only had 95,000 ++ miles on it.

All things pass, as they say.

This time of year, I used to get a lot of photos from my life-long friend that retired to Montana.
He lived an incredible life.
An outdoorsman's dream.
Almost 2 Grand Slams of Sheep, Big Kodiak Brown, many Huge Deer and Elk, Wolves, Lions, Giant Moose and a world Class trap collection.
God, I miss him.
