If you’re an NRA voting member, your ballot for the NRA election is now arriving in the February issue of your NRA magazine. This year’s election is especially important because, now that the New York Attorney General’s attempt to put NRA out of business has failed, we must now direct our energy and efforts to rebuilding and strengthening NRA. How we do this, and under what leadership, will determine how quickly we can restore and regain our unified strength for our mission, our members, our donors, and indeed for our country. Our team has the knowledge, skills and experience to guide NRA though this challenging transition period to a strong financial and political resurgence. We are: Bob Barr, Sharon Callan, Larry E. Craig, Isaac Demarest, Lawrence Finder, Jeff Fleetham, Carol Frampton, Joel Friedman, Sandra S. Froman, Tom King, Charles Rowe, Ronald L. Schmeits, John C. Sigler, Danny Stowers, Dwight D. Van Horn and Blaine Wade We’re a group of concerned Second Amendment activists, attorneys, former members of the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S Senate, business executives, financial experts, distinguished competitive shooters and respected law enforcement leaders. We’re running for the NRA Board of Directors because we’re very concerned about the future of NRA and the Second Amendment. Many of our team participated in the reform of NRA’s financial operations, putting in place robust accounting oversight controls to protect NRA’s finances, many of which were specifically endorsed by the Judge in the New York case. Under our leadership, new NRA committees were appointed to oversee the financial operations of the NRA. Now, we must direct our efforts to rebuilding and strengthening NRA. Each member of our team brings a solid record of accomplishment. One of our team initiated the landmark lawsuit, NYSRPA v Bruen, which resulted in the US Supreme Court upholding the right to carry and ruling that the New York law restricting concealed carry permits was unconstitutional. Other members of our team have been responsible for landmark pro-2nd Amendment decisions in state and federal courts. Our team includes former legislators and law enforcement leaders who have considerable experience promoting pro-Second Amendment legislation and opposing anti-gun laws. Still other team members who come from business and banking backgrounds will provide valuable oversight for NRA financial and budgetary policies. Our team also includes an International Distinguished Rifleman and a Police Pistol Champion. These team members are strongly committed to the expansion of the many NRA training and shooting programs that benefit all NRA members. We ask for your vote in this very important NRA Board of Directors election. Help us keep NRA strong and effective. Vote for this winning team of candidates. You can also see more about us at Ammoland: https://www.ammoland.com/2025/01/nra-2025-board-election-vote-for-these-strong-effective-leaders/ For more information about our team members, please see our biographical sketches on the pages next to your ballot in the February issue of your NRA magazine or go to www.StrongNRA.com

So, when is the Board of Directors / Nominating Committee stranglehold going to be broken to wrest control of the NRA from the K Street professional lobbyists and restore power to the membership?

How many members are on the board of directors? Is Wayne LaPierre still receiving any payments of any kind from the NRA? Has there been any consideration given to declaring bankruptcy so as to free the NRA from any financial commitment to its ''retirees'' or past employees?
These are important things to know.

Joins December 2024 and comes in here spouting off talking points about the NRA...... HILARIOUS.
The NRA can eat a giant satchel of Richards (read Bag of Dïcks), they don't stand for gun owners anymore and haven't for a number of years.
VCDL and GOA are the way forward. The NRA is garbage until they clean house and actually do something substantial.
Never forget, they never attended Lobby Day in THEIR OWN BACKYARD in Virginia when we had some substantial bills on the table. They left us high and dry.

The recent reforms that we supported have changed the Nominating Committee nominating process. This process does not allow outside influences, political operatives, lobbyists, backroom dealers etc. to have any control over who is nominated.

The NRA Board of Directors has 76 members, who serve on over forty different committees that oversee NRA's many programs that benefit the membership, including firearms safety, hunter safety and marksmanship programs, many shooting programs, shooting range development and protection programs, women's programs, youth programs, hunting and wildlife conservation programs and legislative policy programs to name just a few of the programs that benefit the membership.
NRA Board members do not get paid to serve on the NRA Board, they are all volunteers.
Wayne LaPierre doesn't receive any payments from NRA. In fact, he just had to pay back over $4 Million to NRA as part of the recent judgement against him.
We're all working hard to make NRA strong financially, so that it can serve the membership through all the NRA programs and Second Amendment advocacy/protecting your right to keep and bear arms . There has been no discussion of bankruptcy.

We've been working for a long time defending NRA from anti-NRA government politicians who swore to dissolve the NRA and seize it assets. You have seen how the New York Judge dismissed the NYAG's demands to dissolve the NRA or to appoint a monitor to oversee the NRA.

There has been no discussion of bankruptcy. Let us know when the board is cut down to a manageable level (12 to 15) that allows it to come together and get rid of the next ''Wayne Lapierre''. Let us know when the NRA sheds all these extraneous programs and goes full time on the 2nd Amendment court cases. We don't need legislation, we need to enforce the 2nd amendment in court. The court as it stands will protect the 2nd. For years now the NRA has stood by and left it to others to fight for 2A rights in court. Please check closely and make sure nobody from the past is drawing money from the NRA.I think they are hence my suggestion of bankruptcy. Bad as bankruptcy is it would clear the decks. It would even make me pay up or get out since I have a life membership and throw the magazine in the trash without reading it and haven't sent a dime in decades. Its a terrible thing when one you loved has been caught lying and cheating and many of us have been begging the NRA to straighten up for years before we hit the door and left. I first wrote them a handwritten plea in around 1979 or 1980 asking, no pleading with NRA to concentrate of court cases and quit the continuing crisis over legislative action. They didn't have the courtesy to print my letter or even reply.

The NRA has become the msnbc of gun advocates. People have moved on. The lobbyists continue to think the populists stand with them.

Seth: You might want to review this thread from August, 2024. You and the group are involved in an election campaign. What is your platform? What are the 10 most important things that you want to get done and how do you plan to go about accomplishing those? https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...our-thoughts-on-the-nra-now#Post19717223

Thanks logger:
The plan for a strong and effective NRA is summarized below: Rebuild – Rebuild and strengthen NRA-ILA, Membership and General Operations, including Competitions, Education & Training, and our network of NRA grassroots Clubs and State Associations. Restore – Restore and reinforce NRA’s position of leadership in Second Amendment Advocacy in the White House, in Congress, in State Legislatures, and the Courts. Reform – Reform, modernize, and streamline NRA’s business and financial models to ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity. Repair – Repair and rebuild NRA’s relationship with our members, our clubs, our donors, the industry, Congress, and the public at-large. Revive – Revive and reinvigorate the programs and services our members want, need, deserve, and expect. Recover – Recover money owed to NRA by former executives, the State of New York and/or others, holding everyone accountable.
Of course, all of the above requires adequate funding. We need to upgrade our fundraising. We need to keep our members much better informed about how their membership dollars are being spent and show them the results before asking for more donations. And when we do ask for money we need to assure the members what these funds will be used for.

Looks like a couple of ex presidents there, Froman and Sigler. A little to close to Wayne's World for me. I'll wait to hear from Mr. Knox before I vote for anyone.

I think the NRA has done a huge injustice to the members for all their traitorous actions. I was a member for a lot of years and backed the NRA. I lost all faith as well as a lot of members did. Constant wasting monies sent to NRA on lavish spending. I am done with and will not ever send the NRA another dime. Damage has been done to all members, while the board did nothing but business as usual.
