Great shot!
I had a big old pot bellied yard buck that would come through every so often last fall. Old guy would waddle up to the fence, tense up, shift side to side, then figure “Nope, got the angle wrong.”
He’d back up and go through the whole routine again a couple times before he would finally pull the trigger and jump the fence.
He always looked like he was gonna catch a rear hoof and do a faceplant. 🤪

I once watched 70 or 80 of them jump 2 fences about like that. They jumped one onto the road, then another on the other side. They were heading toward a rancher's haystack where another 50 or so were already feeding.

I find pronghorn interesting too. In my many years I've only seen one or two jump a fence here in Oregon, and each of those had just been within inches of getting freight trained by a car. Most go under or wiggle through. Several years back, someone posted a video link here showing some migratory movement of several hundred pronghorn in Wy. More than half of those animals were jumping the fence. Found a couple more: ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/tRPqVMfT/Fence.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/4d098zzF/Jump.jpg) Even at my age, I think I could clear that rail fence. My landing might not score very high though.

It's interesting watching different animals cross obstacles. Place i used to hunt was a big wide open hollow. Deer always crossed one or two places in the fence. Does just jumped it , bucks unless really pushed would stop and hop over and occasionally under. Shot several as they stopped for that fence.

I used to have a pic from my 35mm of a doe that would jump an 8 foot game fence in the morning and around 11am or so. Went to the neighbors to feed, came back after she was done. And they always barely seem to clear whatever height they need to clear.

Neighbor has a 6' cedar fence and one day I watched two bucks jump it from standing still. Unbelievable.

I've seen deer jump an 8' fence around Ft AP Hill. Also, they'd get inside our magazine areas with 8' fences that had spiraled concertina wire on top and footers on the bottom 2' into the ground. So they weren't crawling under them.

They are just an impressive animal. One of the reasons they can do that is MAINLY because they have four legs. And, they don't eat at McDonalds...
