I did the Ammo Jo thing. See how that works out.
Ordered a .44 and may add the 357 later on.

Good news IMO. While the Rugers with Tyler grips are so messed up, Ruger has stopped production, & trying to fix things on their end. Ronnie Wells who wrote the grip cutting programs for Tyler says that Smith is producing great examples & they are working out fabulously, they've come to the table with some great stuff.
Great to hear.

This is exactly what I’m looking for to pair with my 1894 SBL in 44 I bought yesterday. Going to give the dealer I bought the rifle from a call tomorrow to try to get one since they’re listed with Lipseys.

Many years ago had the chance to buy one of the original run 686 MGs...it had the nicest balance of any S&W .357 I had ever handled...and passed on it as I just didn't have a use for .357s...
Hope they bring back the entire line... I've had two .41s, three .45 ACP and three .44s...and only have one .41 left (Idaho Shooter got the other one...). There was also a L-frame .22 but it had the IL...very rare gun...
Best line of guns that S&W ever made...
Bob

Dean Yeah that. And I'd appreciate any insider info on when the 686 will begin shipping too. 41

I placed an order for the 686 as soon as they were announced. Eager to hear updates as well.

I find it odd that S&W did not have some number of these revolvers already manufactured and ready to ship prior to announcing them at SHOT show? Is this delay common in the industry when a new product is announced? It would seem that if they hope to capitalize on interest generated at the SHOT show they would want to be able to fill initial orders quickly and put the product in people's hands.
If you can't be a good example, may you at least serve as a dreadful warning

VERY common for S&W...it is usually months before some new announcements get to the dealers...
Ruger has been much better...they are usually shipping from the factory within days after they announce... Several years ago when they put out the GP100 MC 10mm, the press release was Friday and the following week guns were already on GunBroker...
...that said...the LCRX-3" .327 has been on the Lipsey's website for a month and zero guns available...

It’s almost as bad as waiting on a suppressor

It’s almost as bad as waiting on a suppressor Don't know about pistol suppressors, or going the trust paperwork route, but a rifle suppressor showed up at my door yesterday. Took 9 weeks.
It's you and the bullet, and all the rest is secondary.

My original mtn gun is one of the most important guns of my career. Certainly carried more than any gun I’ve ever owned
It’s had a couple minor upgrades over the years. Crimson trace grips have been priceless in total darkness hiking out.
it’s so much easier to place the red spot on a bear then trying to focus on glowing dot open sights. The trigger was tuned to perfection, and I had it bead blasted again to remove the polished holster wear on parts Damn good to see you back JJ!!
If you find yourself in a hole....quit digging

I saw that early this morning. The no locks are making a comeback. Can't wait to see what's next. A remake of the Model 651 2" would be nice!
