I found a new threaded .22 lr standard barrel at a gun dealer today for $100. I am thinking this barrel could be used to replace a standard .22lr, a .22 mag, or maybe a .17 hmr barrel. I think you could have 1 stock and use any of the 3 barrels - is this correct?
Not just the stock, but the receiver and bolt as well.
The 455 and 457 barrels are interchangeable. 457 barrels are nitrided, which protects both the outside and the inside, a really good feature. Besides the barrel, you need the proper magazine and when going from .17 HMR or .22 WMR to .22 LR, you need the filler block and retaining pin for the magazine housing. When you buy an accessory barrel made by CZ, it comes with a magazine and IIRC the filler if needed, plus an Allen key and torx key. Those will do for the initial tightening, but a torque driver is recommended for the barrel screws.
There are also single-shot blocks that take the place of a .22 LR magazine, if that’s something of interest.
Ebay sellers make 3D printed versions too, for both sizes of magazines.
