The classic sporter didn't come out until 1992, and no serial number info after that but I have 2 I know are 2005 that are in same serial number range. I emailed seller but they haven't updated the ad. An unsuspecting bidder may be upset.

I noticed that as well. I have emailed sellers before when I saw mistakes. Any small amount of research for a potential buyer would clarify it. Wonder how one could even pick 1971 as a year of manufacture?

Winchester's serial numbers are all over the place due to selling out and name changes. It's obvious Winchester only made left hand 70's in the 90's through early 2000's to us left handers.

Does it really matter what the serial number is?

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I noticed the mis-description as well. However, having posted corrections to a couple buyers in the past with zero response, decided not to waste my time.

OTOH, there is also a very nice LH SS .30-06 on GI. Pricey. But my gut says that the seller may eventually get his price (or close) when the right buyer sees it...

Only if you try to C&R it as a 1972.

If I’m not mistaken, that rifle is listed as pending.

Most certainly is. Did not pay attention to that when I did my "morning stroll" today. Someone will be getting a nice rifle...

Lots of factory LH stocks were available in the short mags and some LA LH CDNN had a bunch cheap, so could be a swapped stock.

It sold. We'll see if it gets relisted.

If you want to do some trading on a left hand Model 70 let me know. Thanks.
