I have a great looking 722 in 244. But the barrel seems to be shot out. I have a number of take off barrel from 700s. A couple in .22-250 maybe a .243 somewhere. My question is are the treads the same on the 2 Rem. actions.

Yes, I have a couple 700 barrels for n my 722 that was a 300 Sav. One came up a little short on headspace, factory ammo is tight and I had to hone the top of a shell holder for easy chambering. The second is a custom barrel with a .250 recoil lug and it is perfect. Remage nutted barrels for the 700 work great.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

What bullets have you been.shooting? Remember the early 244s had a 12” twist that didn’t do well with longer 100 gr, s6 mm spitzer bullets but would do fine with 90 gr bullets. .

Casting no aspersions on your barrel cleaning process, but a deep cleaning and a re-crown sometimes work wonders on "shot-out" barrels?
I have a couple boxes of .224 Remington brass I've been holding onto just in case I run across a shooting grade rifle.

Thanks the crown looks really good. The rifle itself is in very nice condition. I will try a good cleaning.
I am shooting Sierra 85 gr. HPBT.

It should do fine with the 85 hpbt so as you mentioned, a really good cleaning is in order.
