I've shot many more air rifle rounds than probably all other projectiles combined, but don't know much about modern ones. I was pretty shocked to find one could drop WAY over $1K in a PCP rifle, and that's a non-starter. Here in the Air Rifle forum I was reading up on the Gamo Urban. Right now I have another browser page open to airgundepot.com. Questions:

1) Does this rifle come with any iron sights?
2) Can I put a red dot sight on it?
3) Is the Nomad air pump sold on the website any good?

For about 12 hours I can get away with calling this an Anniversary present, so there's that. smile

Thanks,

Jeff

I wouldn't want a red-dot on a pellet gun- it's hard to 'aim small - miss small.

I’ve had a few over the years… and am looking for a new one…as of right now, I’ve nearly convinced myself on getting a Stoeger XM1 Bullshark https://stoegerindustries.com/airguns/xm1-bullshark
Short, fairly lightweight, great reviews, regulated…

Two reasons the Gamo Urban might not be ideal for you:

1.The air capacity isn't huge so if you'll need more than ~30 shots or so, It'll need to be pumped up.

2. It's not regulated so velocities aren't as stable as a regulated rifle and can't be dialed lower for more shots per fill.

On the other hand, It's easier to fill a small reservoir with a pump than a rifle with a larger capacity air reservoir.

I've not missed a shot because the velocity wasn't regulated.

In a match rifle, I'd want regulated and a larger air tank.

We're curious what you got for your anniversary!!!

I really like my Red wolf safari

Mine is 25 caliber.
Throw in an air tank and your still under $3000.
Daystate has some good stuff
