I’ve gotten into Ultra Light Arms rifles (and NULAs from the Melvin Forbes era), in left hand, of course.

Just wanted to throw this out here in case anyone is considering selling one.

Thanks.

Ditto, what he said.

I have 2 LH Forbes, one redone by Melvin in 280 AI and one Forbes in 7-08 stock.

Both are very accurate, and I plan on keeping them. Bought the 7-08 when Barrett bought all of the remaining Forbes, bought the 280 AI locally it was in 30-06 and sent it to Melvin who re-barreled it to 280 AI, glad I did it. Melvin knew how to build a rifle.

I've had a an ULA in LH 308 and a Forbes in LH .308. I thought that somewhere along the line I'd see a need to change something in the Forbes incarnation to make it more Melvin-like with shooting and handling, but that $ 900 rifle is darn near as good.
I suppose if that was any minor difference, it's the beautiful grippy, custom painted stock of the ULA. But head to head as shooters there is zero difference, both 1/2 MOA guns. The ULA = $3000 or far more.

The Forbes rifles are a LH bargain if one can find them.

Picked up a new LH Forbes 270 when they were clearing house. Sold it chasing something else. Dumb...

Picked up a LH NULA Model 20 in 6.5x55. Wow that rifle is pretty sweet... Melvin was a genius.

Still patiently waiting for a LH NULA or ULA to hit the market in 7mm-08, 6.5, 308, or my holy grail 284. I'd be interested in Forbes as well.

I’ve got two a 223 and a 22-250 both Model 20S’s. I’ve also had a 6x45 and a .260 but foolishly sold them.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I think I have maxed out on LH NULAS.

I just picked up a .257 Ackley from Southpawhunter. Great sale.

Beautiful rifle. I’ll get to shoot it next week.

Your latest would be fun! I've got a lefty ULA in 250 Savage that no way could I offer up. It tips pronghorn over quite nicely with 80gr TTSX Barnes.

Just a followup on the .257 Ackley Melvin rifle.

First 9 shots … the very first shots through the rifle … 3 groups.

.712
.415
.743

Just a random load I threw together.

115g Ballistic Tip over 42 grains of Reloder 17.

It’s a good start. smile
