I know some of you guys can ID the maker of these at a glance, I can't. Can anyone help me out with a Maker on this? Rem 700 LA with the letters "Magnum" stamped in the barrel channel. It weighs 1 pound 15 ounces on my postage scale and the exterior has a very, very fine sandpaper like texture. Thoughts?

I will take your word for it. I haven't bought milk in 25 years.

Any chance someone took a factory synthetic stock from the 90s, filled the checkering and painted everything with a textured black paint?

What's printed on the pad?

No, this is higher quality than that. It is not OEM Remington. It is hard to tell in pictures but the first one of the forearm "webbing" is much thicker than factory and the lettering in MAGNUM is totally different. The stock has a Decelerator pad on it, so it is of no help with ID. I have NOT removed the pad but I don't know if any makers marked them there anyway.
