Got a little stainless Remington I’m thinking about having the bolt fluted. Any cons besides price?

I like the ones I had done. Had the bolt knobs cut and changed also. A good smith normally will do both in less than 2 weeks .

Spiral

Sweetheart,

You don't even "own" a bolt to flute, even if it were FREE. Hint.

This. Why you will certainly look cool with a custom spiral bolt pretending to be a top benchrest competitor. If your rifle can only shoot a 1/2 to an inch group it is just for show.

Is this a hunting rifle? What are your best groups?

Yes hunting rifle. I haven’t shot it. It’s in pieces right now. Is it wrong that I like cool [bleep]?

Not at all....its your rifle so do as you want with it. And if you want a fluted bolt there are no cons.

But why are you asking for advice?

I have a number of Rem 700 bolt guns that I had the bolt spiral fluted. I did it for cosmetics only. I like the looks. Weight loss is insignificant in my view.

Do you see a significant increase in accuracy with a fluted bolt? How much can one expect and does it matter for a rifle that can only shoot a one inch group?

I don't have one rifle that has a fluted bolt so yes, I am ignorant.

I guess I am still confused and my comprehension seems to be lacking. Awesome looking new bolt but did it make you rifle shoot better? What were the before and after groups?

Sweetheart,

You don't "shoot" anything other than your mouth and Imagination, due in no small part to your being a CLUELESS Brokedick Drooling Dreamer. Hint.

OEM Flyweight Flutes yesterday, with .620 BC's in the .3's. Google as you MUST and nod your pencil neck and crossed-eyes,like you "understand". Hint.

Hey Little Stick, when is the big day going to come when you actually shoot something living at long range? Sort of exciting isn't it?
