Very nice choices and pics folks.
Yes, not for a 'carry piece' just a casual plinker, though I am sure a few of you use yours in a nightstand or automobile. No doubt a light poly frame SA is hard to pass up if one is carrying.
And I do think there may be some better accuracy to be had w/metal frame guns. No doubt - H22 always has plenty eye candy - as many other folks on the fire.
Nice pics and posts folks! Thanks.

I love the Browning Hi Power and appreciate the history behind that pistol. I had one and traded it away years back, and now I have the Springfield clone on the shortlist. The all-metal M&P feels good. As does the Sig Legion 365. I have a sentimental fondness for both the Beretta and the Sig 226. I have been issued both at one time or another, and in the case of the Sig 226, it rode with me through some tough times. To pick one would be unnecessarily hard.

Looks like only one other respondent chose the S&W 5906. Too bad, as they are damned near inert with loaded chamber when hammer’s down. Then, the first shot is just a DA trigger pull away, with 15 more ready to go, single action. With a bit of attention to the basics, a 5906 can really be made to perform, too: ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/zv6sR8M7/Full-Size-Render-207.jpg) These five were fired two hands standing at 50 feet, all double action by lowering the hammer after each shot and treating the next shot as if it were the first. The heft of the all-steel 5906 is a real steadying factor for precision shooting, though not so enjoyable to pack around for extended periods. Their weight makes a good shoulder holster very nearly a necessity.
Every day’s an adventure.

I had one of those in a dual-caliber kit, 9mm and 41 Action Express. Have owned multiple copies of Sig, CZ, and Beretta, and though the nicest of the CZs were very nice, I prefer the Smith 2nd and 3rd Gen guns for all-around goodness.

Another vote for a Beretta 92FS.
The grip is big but it points very naturally for me, is very reliable, plenty accurate enough and very soft shooting. A fellow at work who was not particularly gunny wanted a new 9mm so I let him shoot some of mine and he chose the Beretta mostly for the milder recoil compared to the others.
Had a nice one several years ago but, repeating an oft repeated process in my life I sold it, then a few years later regretted selling it so bought another.
It's just a range gun these days but if Zombie Apocalypses ever come back in vogue I'll have something useful and reliable to lend to the neighbors.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I'll chime in with a vote for the Browning Hi Power. Like pancakes at Dennie's - a single stack leaves me wanting more, a double stack is just right. Mine (ignore the interloper): ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/Ba9oNekl.jpg)

I've owned only one all metal doublestack pistol, this P-13. I'd kind forgotten about this... ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/MaKTi7r.jpg) My departed uncle built this one, got bored with it, and sold it to me in the '90s. I never really got used to the size of the grip and decided I wanted a singlestack 1911 and made a deal with my nephew, who wanted the P-13. He was to get his hands on a nice 1911 and swap me for the P-13 with the understanding that it was to always remain in the family (my uncle had passed). So the nephew found a nice Kimber 1911 and then decided to keep it rather than swap for the Para. Eventually I swapped him the P-13 for one of the newer flattop Blackhawks in .44 Mag, again with stipulations about both guns remaining in the family. The next thing I heard was that the P-13 was a "jam-o-matic." which surprised me because it had always been utterly reliable. When I checked it out I found that it just would not quite go back into battery during feeding and a new recoil spring took care of that...and I also found that I no longer had any reservations about the grip size, and that may be because of all the polymer doublestacks I've been shooting over the years...I'd gotten used to them. So when I offered to swap that Blackhawk back for the P-13 the little $hit didn't want to give up the P-13 "because Uncle Fred built it." I had already found a 3-screw FT .44 Blackhawk and really didn't want to keep the newer one so I sold it back to him. I can shoot the P-13 all I want, and I can even bring it home and treat it as my own but it's just no longer mine. That's okay, though...when I go down to nephew's place in San Saba I kill all the hogs I can and it makes me feel better.

Tough choice, probably the Browing for its history ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/NcFGxe5.jpg) Now you've gone and done it, mister! Nice pair... ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/gEO9T0C.jpg)

Wow, those are some nice Pistola's you guys have posted.
Shrapnel - I recall a time when those HK P7 were seemingly expensive around 700-800.....

My favorite 9mm, all-metal, double stack is my Sig P320 AXG LE. Mine has been continuously loaded for several years and hasn't gone bang by itself--yet. It's one of 3 pistols in my rotation for carrying to work. All up, it's pretty heavy (46+ oz.), which is what keeps me from carrying it more often. But, since the OP asked us to name our favorite, that's mine. (Admittedly, I need to look into CZ guns...) ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/2nw5fJt.jpg)

For a carry gun and my personal use, hi-power all the way. Stashed all around the house, for anyone in the family to grab if needed, Beretta 92's.

Hate to say it, but as much as I'm a fan of the HiPower, my absolute favorite has to be my Kahr K9 Elite 03.
