What is your fave? Curious about 4-5" barrel models.
Beretta? Browning Hi-Power (High Power) ? , CZ, etc., and 1911/2011s?
For Accuracy, reliability, durability, ergonomics?
What say you?

I had a Beretta 92. Liked it. It was accurate, reliable and a pleasure to shoot. Someone at my gun club liked it more, and it went home with him. I kind of miss it. The Beretta 92 may not be the "in vogue" pistol these days, but it sure is a well-designed, and well-made firearm, with a strong service record. Very pointable (for me).
I recently picked up a 9mm Springfield SA35. Haven't shot it yet. I have always liked the look.of the Browning Hi-Power. I found my used SW35 on sale, and with free shipping, so decided it was time to evaluate it. So far, I like it a great deal. Fantastic trigger. Good feel. Good tolerances and build quality. We'll see how it shoots in a couple of weeks

Favorite all metal would be Wilson EDC X9 followed by CZ Shadow 2.
I like the STI/Staccato guns a lot but they aren’t all metal, at least mine aren’t. The grip and mag well assembly is polymer that attaches to the frame. I think Atlas might have some all metal ones.

Currently a CZ P01, though I recently inherited my Dad's Browning (Belgium) Hi Power which may change that...

My CZ Shadow 2 Orange is the best shooting and ergonomic feeling 9mm I've ever owned.

For carry, CZ P01.
Full size for target, everything else - try them all out and pick the one that fits and feels good.

I also like the Beretta 92Fs. Great reliable all metal 9mm. Mine is a little over 25yo and still works fine although the night sights have lost their glow. Don’t think the front sight can be re-lamped. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/XNscHMWT/IMG-6144.jpg)

While I like the old Hi-Powers and Beretta 92’s, neither have ever fit my hand well, or “pointed well”for me, personally
If I had to choose, it would probably be an old school S&W 5906 or my old Ruger P89. Both are built like tanks, Uber Reliable, and plenty accurate, too. Although both are kinda in the top of the butt ugly scale, as far as handguns go.

Hi-Power for me, then the CZ-75, most likely. There are plenty of others, but those seem best to my hands. I kinda liked the old MAB PA-15s, too, but those are few and far between. The SIG 210 is awfully nice, but spendy.

I'm realizing something just this moment and it surprises me...when I read the thread title, I thought "why in hell would I even think about an all metal double-stack pistol?"
It's something in itself that I have embraced the 9mm---which I used to regard as a rather impotent pipsqueak until much better bullets came along, but that I have completely flipped in my opinion of polymer frames and that I would think of metallic frame construction as superfluous is a startling realization for me. I vowed I'd never fire a "plastic gun" much less own one back in the '80s. I couldn't tell you how many I've owned since 2006.
It's not that I have decided I dislike metallic framed handguns by any stretch, but...
Whoever first said "never say never" got it right, even though I did not think that was a viable maxim when I first heard it.
Sometimes I wonder just how well I know myself.

Sometimes I wonder just how well I know myself. I was much the same, Buddy, until I shot a friends then new Glock 17 back in 92 or 93. Swore you couldn’t give me one of the damn things! 🤪 After shooting his, I bought the first new Glock 19 model I could get my hands on. Been carrying one as my primary CC weapon in one model or another ever since. And now own them in all available calibers. Also have a polymer framed Springfield Hellcat and a Sig P365 in the carry rotation when I want something just a tad smaller for concealed carry. My old metal framed auto’s just reside in the safe, nowadays, unless I want to carry a 1911 Commander for work around the ranch or if I’m just feeling “nostalgic”. 😬🤠
