We had 2 accidents in December. One a deer strike and the other a slide into a guard rail. We still haven't been in to get anything done. Was told they are waiting on parts and it is taking 6-8 months to get the repairs done. What is the time in your areas to get things like this fixed?

For late model vehicles I’ve never waited more than 3-4 weeks. Something out of production that panels aren’t readily available for I could see taking longer but I think 8 months is crazy.

took my body shop over a month to find some trim that needed replacing on the wife's BMW. The actual work was less than a day.

My son has been driving my Tacoma for over 3 weeks now. He hit a deer about a month ago. Car was drivable so he continued driving it for about a week until they told him to bring it in. Ten days later they said it was ready but when he picked it up some of the sensors in the front bumper didn't work. At first they thought it was a simple fix, but they now say it needs parts. Who knows at this point.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

The only shop in our town says they can't get the parts, but after calling today they did give a tentative date of 1 May to bring it in if they have the parts.

The excuse is COVID. Still. How many have had recent (last 2 years) that had a vehicle take months to get fixed?

Depends on what they find when your car is inspected. I had a somebody back into my 22 F250 and bend the bumper. There was nothing structural, no paint involved so I had it back after 4 days. They got the parts in pretty quick and it was just parts swap but holy chit it was expensive. Way more than doing it myself would have been. Just the bumper was $800 for a Ford part number.

A friend in Missoula hit a deer last year. 2015 Chevy pick-up. More front-end damage than my 24. I do have door damage too though. He had it back ten days after he hit the deer.

It is worth checking the smaller town shops around you.

Shops in Bozo are months out, while you can get right in even 20 miles away.

Took me 6 weeks to bet out 23 Bronco in for the brake issues it had in November. I remembered why I’m not a Ford fan after that. Now it’s got a recall for the suspension and no know ln date for the parts to repair it to come in.
