I was asked to come up with a pattern that was larger than my typical hunting / game processing field knife. This person wanted something for larger size game such as elk and a little more blade in length and thickness. In my mind that means a more utility blade concept verses a more thin and smaller whitetail idea. So I came up with this pattern for him. It is killer in the hand and ticks many boxes for me in what I like in a good knife pattern. Very happy with this design. I call it the H.U.T.4 (hunt/utility/trail/4”). ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/xjF4dwnw/IMG-0630.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/MHX3DDb3/IMG-0634.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/QCP4nTf8/IMG-0636.jpg)

I like that one! My brother and I had a model that had a very similar profile to the blade as well as the handle. It always sold well. If the customer wants, you can easily add just a hint of a drop to the point and it makes a totally different looking knife that also sells easily.

I’ve already changed it up a little to be a 6.25” combat knife that I’m making to get to a couple fellas for deployment soon.

This particular one was a thicker build up of layers. Shaped up really nice. I took notes for my favorite feeling one. I’ll have to get pictures of it when I get to the sheath for it. But this one I did have a couple images. I have one that is thinner scales on it also I have for a user for myself. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/6pmCkjQd/IMG-0498.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/5tQ8bBHD/IMG-0626.jpg)

I don’t like blocky handles or really skinny ones either. I try and get a good blend of comfort, not blocky and not too thin.

Prefer brighter colors and shiny blades. The orange handles were great.

well thought out. I like a thicker handle, and the length looks fine for a trail knife. For a real 'woods' knife though I would like a blade with more height between blade and spine.

I have one of your smaller knives. Great stuff.

I like the subdude colors for a low profile use. Stash in bag and they don’t jump out at you when it’s opened.

I like this blade shape but like 2 pins, especially the mosaic type. Also, if I'm going custom, S30V (or similar) and something pretty like boxelder burl..... BTW, depending on the steel, I really like your H.U.T.4 design too!
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

I like all the ideas you mentioned. This color pallet was just a bling with the opposite of bling colors Sometimes I like to try different things that don’t jump out at you. Subtle sometimes wins in simple tool ideas. I’m working on plenty that have pop so trying to not have pop is also fun. I wish S30V wasn’t so costly. Adds to the total cost that I hate to upcharge even more for.

The orange handled knife looks like a good one for boning out a moose or elk.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
