I'd be happy with Anita Eckberg..

They said that on ABC News last night. Next they will resurrect the wooly mammoth.

Supposed to be done by 2028! I hate to admit it……I’d like to see one in person!

As for the T-Rex, hell yeah, bring ‘em back…..I’d love to hunt one. But, have them here in the USA…..I can suggest a few locations to start repopulating with them! 😉 I could put together a “short list” real quick! 😁 memtb

On the surface it sounds interesting...but one thing I know for absolute certain is that when men gain power and knowledge about a thing they always use it.

And they always use it on other men. NOW you know what the filthy pricks at the top of the food chain are up to.

This will eventually destroy humanity as it is.

Nah- velicipiraptors. (sp) Them things be quick and mean, hunt in packs, and you better be too. Make it sporting. Rex is too big and slow - too easy to hunt.

Velis mean Rat Patrol jeeps!

i wonder if the Indians want them too? We could maybe make them in " sacred" white for them.

Just read thru the dire wolf on Wiki. Those new cubs are just your old grey wolf, slightly tweaked. Not that it matters- the grey and dire appear to be the same wolf, thru convergent evolution. Maybe. lots of assumptions and estimates involved. The dire had slightly bigger teeth and a couple other things that made them better suited to wresting the big stuff down, is all. They were same sized as the grey, for the most part.

No biggie. Just grant money foolishness.

Ice Age bison would be an interesting hunt and an awesome skull mount.

There is zero risk of disease or other bad stuff coming back from the past. They modified the genetics of a wolf to “create” a dire wolf look alike.

That begs the question, what is the proper weapon for such a hunt. Does one start at the 577 Trex or do you go straight to the 600 overkill.

My concerns are. Who's footing the bill. And why do people want critters back, that didn't survive the test of time. If God wanted them to exist, they would still be here! And never trust the science, the government made sure of that with covid.

Like I said maybe too over the top on the tinfoil.

Valid concern. Think COVID.

Thinking about this last night, it pisses me off they can fund private donations to pull this off, but we can't seem to cure cancer. It doesn't seem right.

It is amazing that we have the technology to do this and I have to admit I would love to see a lot of extinct species alive again. That said, there are always a myriad of unintended consequences with just a simple extant plant or animal species reintroduction or transplantations. These things should never leave their enclosures. We all know how foolproof that strategy is too though.

This is not about bringing cute and cuddly back. This is about using the funding from well meaning individuals to learn how to manipulate genes, and there are an awful lot of very nasty versions for the twits to play with.

It will start with cosmetic and medical manipulation, move on to industrial, then quietly slip in to class/societal distinctions.

If nothing else intervenes this will change humanity to something we won't recognise...or like.

Understandable. But, successfully doing the science for production of something that is meant to grow and develop has proven to be a far cry from science that could arrest/eliminate diseases that attack other tissue, can metastasize and actually redevelop themselves and their destructive capacities.
