I’m looking for advice on how to insulate the bed cap of my son’s Toyota Tacoma bed cap. He picked one up that’s made of fiberglass. He wants to adhere some form of insulation for when he sleeps in it while camping.

Also, we’re going to build a false floor to set his bedroll on. If anyone has any ideas I’d love to hear them.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Spend some time watching you tube videos. Lots of great projects on there that will give you some ideas.

Probably not a great idea in the first place because of the added moisture from one's breath from sleeping in that small an enclosed space. I had a Glasstite fiberglass cap that I slept under and had that problem and then the moisture promoted mold growth. What worked better was just cracking the screened windows and running a thermostatically controlled 1500 watt ceramic heater with a small Honda generator.

I'd spend money on a better sleeping bag.

Most people don't really want the truth.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

the low nap carpet that they use for lining is what you want. It'll help keep the inside from sweating on you. and the bubble wrap/mylar insulation on the windows will make for a pretty comfortable setup so long as you have a decent bag.
I spent many nights in my trucks over the years here in Ak doing that.

I never used a platform, but a rubber bed mat was a really nice addition. helps insulate from the bottom and was a lot easier on the knees crawling in and out..

Bed Rug/Mat is a nice addition to the bed if you are going to be crawling around/sleeping in there
