I’ve never seen one. That is the single shot. I had a model 67 but did not care for it so sold it. Is there other single shots that compare to the 47 ? I’m in the mood for a single shot 22. I don’t care for the ones you have to cock. Also is scope mounting possible?

Alan C: I have owned a few Winchester Model 47 single shot Rifles. Sadly I traded them away in my quest to collect more Winchester pre-64 Model 70's.
I never shot any of them.
I also owned several Model 67 Winchesters and perhaps the Model 47 was a little better made?
I still have one pristine little Model 67 "Boy's Rifle" left in my collection.
But if you are looking for a high quality American made single shot bolt action 22 Rifle then I highly recommend seeking out a Colt "Colteer 1-22"!
I picked one of these up a few years ago and the workmanship/quality is VERY impressive.
Good luck in your quest.

Just a bit of worthless trivia, the Colteer, like the other long gun Colts made after the Lighting, weren't actually made by Colt. I believe the Colteer was made by Kodiak. I had one once, but it's gone just like so many I've owner over the years.

There are a lot of neat old single shot 22LR's out there. The Remington 514 is another one to look at.

Another one to look for is a winchester 310, single shot, the 320, which I have and will never sale...is mag fed. Grooved recievers. These were the predecessors to the kimber 22s designed by Jack Warne. Winchester stocked them and put their name on them. Stupid accurate guns.

Funny, my lgs I frequent had a 310 on the used rack, I almost bit but said if was there next time I'd get it. It ate on me a few days, went back and it was gone. But the 320 I have now was in its place so it worked out.

Here is a quick 10 shot group @50 with cci standards. Call it an 1 inch. Haven't tried any good stuff in it. The triggers on these can be heavy, but there are tweaks out there for them. Mine is around 7lbs but I don't want to booger with it. 10 shots in a squirrels head at 50 is nothing to complain about.

The 47 is a cock on opening , no knob pull, Speed lock bolt. Automatic safety. 25" barrel, I believe. Quite accurate as all Winchester barrels are.
Nice beginners rifle . Will shoot better than you.

Barring a couple of NIB models offered for four figures, those Winchester 320's can generally be had for reasonable prices. Here are a few that have sold recently.

In addition to the above^ the 47 safety automatically goes to the safe position upon chambering a round!

I bought one 20 years ago and immediately handed it over to my father since he was collecting Winchester rimfires at that time.

Literally didn’t see another one in person for sale locally for 19 years. I bought that one and kept it!

Mines extremely accurate.

Crappy picture but it’s the one at the bottom :

Thanks Alan.

I think you can’t go wrong with a 46, and believe they are collector sleepers for the future.

Yup ! In my opinion it was a fine gun and they only made it for a few years so there are only a few over 44,000 of them out there if they have all survived.

Thanks folks! How does the 47 stack up against the 310 ? I been reading a little about the 310 and got to keep an eye out for one. My first gun was a Marlin Glenfield single shot and had to cock it. I wish I had it .
