I do a lot of cold hunting. Definitely merino baselayer and socks. Over 60% Merino wool. As for outerwear. A real good wool sweater with a wind block works well. You can find them, but they are expensive. Pants, not to heavy and block the wind. A fan of the Sitka for outer.
