Nice grab. Those 8247's were my favorite winch back when I was into the offroading game.
And they just look right on an older rig.

Well, been a lot of back and forth getting the rear hubs/disc brakes. Waiting on a couple of seals to finish up then I will order the new axles.

I also, got tired of the old air compressor so I ordered a new one. Other than it is 412 lbs, it is super quiet and worth every penny.

Only had a half a day this last weekend, did get a few things done. Wires are now securely tied up and I got the trans cooler mounted and working on running the lines.

Been a while since I had an update.

Got the trans cooler installed and plumbed in. Got two carbs rebuilt, so I have options. After, much back and forth with Dutchman Axles they arrived today. Lucy inspects all packages, when they arrive.

Didn't get the axles in, do that next week, but did get the cage in, so dad could start sewing on a top.

Did get the new power steering box mounted.

There will be a couple differnt colors and material. One is a southwest pattern, because that is what dad had in his box, going to be used mostly for pattern for the others. Another will be a tan canvas color more heavy duty. I also, have a black full top that will be used and a CJ5 Myers hard top, that I will fit, later, will make it look like a 3/4 cab.

I'll probably catch flack for this, but I prefer the CJ-5 door openings to the later style "full" doors. Will the doors be canvas, metal, or no doors? Interesting that your dad can sew canvas. What led him to have this kind of equipment? Previous occupation? I would think there'd be a decent demand for custom jeep tops.

He is not that good of a seamstress, he just plays around with it. The CJ6 has the older door openings. I made a set of half doors for it, pluse it has the soft top doors and hard top doors.

Here are my half doors...
