This is as close as it got. Probably 100+ gobbles from 3+ birds 2 properties North of me, lasted from 5:32 until 6:10 or so. 1 seemed to break away and gobbled 2-3 more times on the ground.

1 more gobble probably a 1/4+ mile a little but ago. I slipped into an arra where I want to be in the AM that isn't as thick as surrounding area and stuck 4 reflectors up so I can have an easy quiet trip into that spot tomorrow.

Heard what sounded like 2 cats again but this time it was a 5-10 second ordeal. I assume they're thick enough that seeing another cat isn't odd to them.

Sounds like your season is going like mine.
I have at least started hearing some birds this week.
I hope you have better luck in the morning!

I am starting to think too heavy of cover in my immediate area has turkeys not liking the area, bobcat central.

1 cat fight yesterday, 1 cat track in the yard little over a week ago, 1 cat in my septic field a month or so ago and saw another 2 months ago from my fat mans chair. I think these birds know that. Since green up I have not seen a bird.

Not much faith but I will continue to hit until the end, can't kill em from the couch and I like watching nature anyway.

Toms are pretty silent here too, no bobcats to speak of though there a few feral ones. This happens now and then for no reason I can find. The toms respond but silently which makes it a surprise when they pop up. I'm always hoping to see a fan stick up over a fallen tree or fern. Most often I end up shooting one on the run as I spook it getting up to move to a new area.

They're gobbling here just not on my place or anyplace that doesn't have open ground or cattle. I have super thick brush that I have been burning on periodically and next fall/winter I am going to try to burn all I can. Spray this summer and get stuff drying up so it burns better.

Sitting here right now listening to 5 or 6 birds that have been going since 5:32 this morning. 2 different bunches. Can't hunt either piece of ground.
