Took it off a rifle today... Came to me mounted.
Is it worth the cost of shipping?
Or should I just throw in the trash?

to me no vortex is worth shipping. they turned me down on to warranty claims. will never use another product they make.

I used a Vortex on my muzzleloader in Iowa with temps down to -14. Zero issues. I use a Vortex 3-9x50 on my Ohio deer rifle. I have no issues with Vortex.

Your brokedick opinion matters... I did not have good luck with that model. Had it on a CZ 457, after a couple years it would not adjust accurately, the clicks were soft and imprecise. I took it off and boxed it up, and it sits still.

As a set it and forget it scope in a light duty rifle, it works just fine. If it is broken, send it to Vortex for a replacement. If not, sell it for $75-80 or donate it to someone.

Used that scope on 12ga slugger and ML. Worked fine. Why not use it? If you don't want it, i'll go the same route as King above. I'll pay shipping and send it on over.

I have tried for years to get behind a Vortex (even the Vipers and Razors) and just can not... 1/2 off sales for various Pro friends... They swear by the Razors.

I bought 2 4x & 2 2x7's , 12-14 years ago on a clearance sale. 4x less than $40 , 2x7 $45'ish .
ok scope but the ocular threads were loose fitting.
I gave them away to kids at the gun-range.

I had a Vortex go bad. I contacted them and they paid for sending it back and replaced it.
