Have any of the members here ever participated in a fly tying swap ? This would be where each person participating in the swap would tie 1 pattern for a total of the number of participants then everyone mails them to the host with a self addressed envelope and the host divides the flies out so everyone that participated gets 1 each of everyone else's patterns. Usually there is a theme like dries, nymphs, terrestrial, streamers, etc.

Does this sound interesting to anyone ? We would need at least 6 tyers to make it fun, 12 would be better.

If this sounds fun to anyone, then post a reply. I'd be happy to host the swap. Once we found out how many people wanted to participate then we'd pick a deadline to hand the flies tied and mailed to me.

Please share your thoughts.

This would be the at least 4th, if not 5th Campfire fly swap.

I'd be up for it, but have a checkered history due to moving from CA to CO and back to CA during the second swap I participated in wink

A decade or two back we did some fly swaps and I coordinated a couple. A frustrating endeavor. To function smoothly, folks need to commit, generate, and ship their products by specific deadlines. Meeting deadlines was the tough issue, with late arrivals often being dissatisfied when their submissions were not included. If anyone takes this on, firmly establish and strictly adhere to the stated schedule.
