This is not the first time we've seen rough weather in my locale this late in the Spring, but I did think it was over for the year. That's just what I get for thinking, I guess.

Folks north and east of here have been getting absolutely clobbered...Missouri, Kentucky to name some places.

I have watched a few different forecasts today, and some of them made it sound like my own neighborhood is right in the bullseye of nearly guaranteed tornadoes and large hail...other forecasts, not so much. The bad news here is that the next three days will harbor risks for violent weather. I hate this time of year.

I hope there is no more death and destruction in store for the areas that have been getting hammered of late. It seems as though western Kentucky has been hexed for the last five or six years, even places we normally stay overnight on our travels north to visit the wife's family have been hit and damaged.

Y'all living in those areas keep your heads down and stay aware. Hopefully this will all be over for the rest of the year soon.

Well...damn if it didn't get a little western around here last night. More expected this afternoon, too.

A tornado was confirmed on the ground yesterday afternoon about 60 miles west of here and the radar's future projection (AI, maybe?) showed it passing right through my AO. In reality it veered southward of us and headed straight toward Fort Worth and the storm basically collapsed before it got there. The weather guys were heaving sighs of relief, and then suddenly a cell fired up just to our northeast and headed toward some heavily populated areas. I still don't know the outcome of that.

This shit is getting old, right quick. Come on, June!

It was getting a little sporty last night. Passed south of me, had lots of rain and wind, but no hail or nador!

We had about the worst storm I've ever partaken in come through here Friday afternoon bout 4PM.

Was headed home from work.

Trees lining the fourlane out to the interstate were getting whipsawed back and forth, had to ride left lane as they were bowing over far enough to be seemingly obstructing part of the outside/right lane.

Was trying to keep an eye out for possible tornado formation as it just seemed like the conditions were right.

5 miles on the interstate and I was one of two that were actually moving, everybody was pulled over waiting it out.

Received just under 1" of rain in a 30 minute storm.

I hate to say it, but I think folks in Missouri and Arkansas, and maybe even Kentucky could be in for a long night. I hope I'm wrong.

All we've had around here today is never ceasing wind. I am sick to death of the wind blowing---but it beats the hell out of dodging twirlies.

Finally, some rain. It's been windy and some parts of the State got some big hail. But, we haven't had a good rain in almost a year.

North shore of Lake Superior—snowed all day yesterday—lots melted went to bed with 2 linches on the ground.
Cold dry air from prairie Canada sinking down over hot moist air coming up from the gulf. Oklahoma thru Virginia paying the price of all that turmoil.

When I stand outside here in North Texas this afternoon and imagine the power of that low pressure up in the central plains sucking all this gulf air northward and creating all this wind, I feel pretty damned small. The immensity of it is beyond staggering.
