I've restored meaning "stock" exactly like off the factory line since 1978 mostly Corvette's 63-67 but have done a few much older even a 1932 V-16 Cadilllac. I've never lost money on a restoration but will not do anything in the past 5 years pre mid-1950's myself just cannot see much or any market increase with the rate of inflation ! If I find a car thats at a great price for what it is I'll buy it ! I like the hunt for the car and for the parts to turn it in to how it came from Detroit when it was originally built I've done it for over 47 years.

The idiots paying too much for cars is maybe slowing down but someone still paid nearly 1/2 million dollars for a car they won't drive.

The nostalgic value ends with us boomers.

I had a stock 72 El Camino SS bench seat with a 454. Was great at burning gas.... sick

and tires.... it's "smiles per gallon" not miles.

I owned a fully restored 1952 Mack LTL but have never fully restored any vehicle. Have owned a bunch of old types and "classics" - even very large trucks - and still have several +50 year old 67-72 Chev/GM trucks. My effort is to get them in top running condition and clean/neat - maybe repaint - and have fun with them. Those sold have always been at some decent profit. You must be an expert with C2s - 63 to 67 Corvettes - but other than maintain mine mechanically for 54 years and do cosmetics - new carpet and paint job - I just enjoy it. I admire what you resto guys do.

If that reasoning was true then the market for Model T's and A's would have completely disappeared when all the folks that grew up with them died off and that market has not gone away, it continues to fluctuate. And the market for 40's-50's coupes would have significantly diminished as that generation is dying off.

I've got a 47 Willys CJ2A and a 71 F100 4x4, both nice, the Willys is not original but the F100 is. All my grandkids would love to have either one, and I've been teaching them to drive stick on them, my 11yo grandson can drive a stick when kids twice or 3 times his age wouldn't even know where to start.

As far as value, I have no clue what the Willys is worth, but for the F100 I've been offered 15K to 35K, and I've only got 7-8K invested in it.

Depending on how the Willys is set up, I would say 7-10k.
