This target stock had been hogged out, glassed and the butt shortened. Using the original color is probably best but since it is black walnut, it might look better showing it off.

It doesn't have any figure too it though.

As far as collector value. will it make any difference which one to use?

With it being glassed and shortened it has no collector value, so I would re-finish it to what will make you happy. Good luck and post some pictures when you get it done.
