So am going to finally try and get some loading done for my upcoming deer hunt, does anyone have info for these bullets?

I have I believe IMR4350, IMR4831, H4831 on hand, don't know what loads to use and Barnes on their website only lists two powders, neither one do I have, and hate going and buying a new powder just for one cartridge, so anyone have some ideas of loads, I used to use only 120 grain bullets from speer, sierra, and nosler, and have taken my loads to close to max, so I know my Rem 700 is good and stout, so just need a starting point and any tips on what started to appear to be close to maximum.

I used IMR4831 for YEARS in a Mod70 with 100gr Nosler Solid Base bullets:
start @ 50gr
max @ 54gr

Using Barnes bullets may call for a powder charge adjustment. Maybe someone will advise on that.

Send a email at Barnes, davecbarnesbullets.com and they will send you a copy of the reloading data for your caliber.

By the way I just had problem with the 120grs TSX in my 25-06 model 70 with a 1-10 twist, the bullets will not stabilized,so I have to use only the 100 grs.

I use H4350 in my 25-06AI even though common wisdom would say its burn rate is a bit too fast. I get excellant accuracy out of the 100gr TSX and just over 3400 fps with 56gr,3.084 COL, Win brass, and CCI BR-2 primer.
As a bonus this load is very temp stable from what I have seen.

Barnes starts at 48 grains of IMR 4831 with MV of 3072 and maxes out at 52.5 with a MV of 3284

Happily using H4350 to get 3340 fps from a 100 gr TSX and a 24" Remington barrel. Two very dead mulies with it over the past three years. I missed a shot at a third mulie two years ago. My fault entirely. I could load hotter, but this load shoots fine and does what it needs to do.

The bullet can be quite accurate and is certainly very effective. I'd show you a recovered bullet, but... Both of 'em are buried in the dirt where they ended up after killing deer! smile Last year's deer was hit at only about 30 yards and the bullet just unfolded his heart. Instant one-shot drop. Very impressive.

If you haven't worked much w/Barnes bullets - they're soft - and copper fouling can still be a problem, particularly with rough factory barrels. I clean the bore more frequently when using Barnes bullets, because it seems there's always copper fouling. I'll put up with that for the performance - they shoot well and do bad things to good deer!

Ya know - when a fellow can get that level of accuracy, and over 3300 fps, with a serious hunting bullet... And very low recoil... It sometimes makes me wonder why I have all those other rifles in my gunsafe... Sometimes!

Wow Kyreloader those velocities seem really high. I'm got the same Tang safety Ruger 77 that I just rebarrelled with a Lilja 24 inch tube. Have not yet figured out why but accuracy is abysmal. I've just rebedded it & will test out again soon. (was going today but it rained). From memory most manuals put the max vel. with 100gr bullets at 3300fps or below. 52.0gr of H4350 gives me 3250fps and I have not gone higher.

If that don't work with the new bedding I'll try going higher.

John, I have not had any problems getting 3400fps with the 100g TSX. The above listed load is with IMR4350 FWIW.

I have found in my set-up that the 100g TSX shoot better hotter.

Good luck.

Whoa! have not even flirted with 3400 w/100 gr bullet in 25/06. May have to try that load out backed way down to start and see where my gun says enough.

In my experience, they almost always do.

I get almost 3,300 fps with the 110gr. AB, so 3,400 fps with a 100gr. TSX seems to fit.

RL22.....veddy, veddy good to me.

I'm also using 53gr of IMR4350 to push the 100gr TSX in my Tikka T3. No pressure signs at all.

50gr IMR4350 behind the 110gr AB.

Unfortunately I'm not sure about velocities because I'm too cheap to buy a chrono!
