Hello, my name is WC and I am a recovering Elkoholic.

Seriously, I have always hunted Moose, Bear and Deer. This year my hunting partner talked me into an area where I could hunt moose and he could hunt elk. So I picked up an Elk bugle before we left so that, just in case I felt like it, I could go and knock one over...

Well anyway, I went out for Elk one morning for a change of pace. What a lot of fun. I had these guys bugling back, (might get the terms wrong here)grunting, and chuckling. Then they come up to you and look all pissed off and bugle some more. I found this very exciting and a whole lot of fun.

While I did not get a legal bull to come in (6 point or better on one side in this area), I'm definitely going to go after these bad boys again. I'm hooked.

My partner's son took his first bull, a 6x6, the rest of us bugled in spikes, 3 points, and 5 points.

It is a disease, I have had for 20+ yrs, But you know, I dont want to find the cure.

Not that I am an Elk expert but that there is a nice looking Elk.

(Sighs) Guess I'm infected then...

I also have the "disease"........I always felt I had it in my heart for years but was confirmed diagnosis in 04 when I took this bull the last day on a 2 week hunt in AZ.
Now for the life of me I cant seem to draw another tag in any state even though I have points in many states.

Yes, it is a disease. And it seems to get worse and worse year after year. There is no cure, I'm convinced it's terminal. And I have an extremely bad case of it

I tried it in 96 and didn't got hooked. Maybe I got some bad stuff.
Going to try some different stuff on October 11th called GMU 67 and well see if I get hooked.
