Nice knife, but I'd prefer a Green River style, with a much thinner blade (for one, at least) over the heavier, shorter, and thicker bladed Buck for purely skinning duties.
Of course, YMMV.....

Love the Buck no. 103. I've had one for 10+ years. Skinned many a buck with it.

My Buck skinner lasted for half a moose. The blade chipped like it had been sharpened on concrete. Must have got a bad one, sent it down the road.
I agree on a thinner blade. Still looking for the perfect skinner.

I've found the perfert skinner - my brother and he won't even drink my beer. Kind of nice to sit back and watch someone else do the majority of the work. Now if he would only learn to cook.

I agree w/ 4pwr; Buck has to hard of steel thats why it holds an edge so well, but thats also why they chip. They are also tough to re-sharpen; I recomend (in that price range) Helle of Norway. But if you want the best GET A RANDALL MADE KNIFE.
